I just ended up getting both the can and NDZ bolt polished. Shoots really nice. Don't agree with you on the aftermarket parts Cajun. I think the NDZ bolt is a big improvement over the stock one. The NDZ can and bolt guide...don't really give a s**t about either of those.

So I recently got the stock DLX can and NDZ bolt polished, fit my o-rings, and used some oil and the bolt slides buttery smooth inside the can now...BUT I STILL GET BOLT STICK! I have the FSD setting at 25ms and if the gun sits aired up for a while that first shot is always "poof". I had the dwell at the stock setting of 12ms so I decided I bump it up to see if that helps at all. The dwell is now at 18ms and so far it has not had any bolt stick on that first shot so the problem seems to be fixed for now. Any other input? Are there any other factors that could come into play here? Weak battery or solenoid? Battery is at 100%. I even swapped out bolt springs! That first shot is now at 43ms of dwell! NONE of this would be a problem if I played XBall with fast turn around games but I don't so lame...anybody else have this problem? No bolt stick unless the gun sits for a long time? Thanks.

The marker is a newer Luxe and I have had/used it less than year so I doubt the noid would need serviced but could that be a contributing factor?

Don't think manifold screw comes into play with bolt stick? I know it controls the return stoke of the bolt and I'm having the bolt stick issue on the forward.

Many people adjust the manifold screw without ever knowing what it does, only that the reported outcome is that it makes it smoother at the sacrifice of rate of fire. A lot more people don't even know how a gun operates. What really happens is 1) the airflow is being restricted by the high setting in your manifold screw and 2) the mod allows you to run on a lower dwell, and the end result is there is not enough pressure to complete the first cycle. Which is what I believe is causing your bolt stick.

Interesting. The dwell is at 18ms right now though and I let it sit for an hour and it still got that poof noise on the first shot.

Did you actually set the manifold screw to flush?

What is the "back cap inner o-ring"?

Right but isn't the airflow only being restricted on the rearward movement of the bolt?

Yes. The manifold restricts the airflow on the rear stroke.

Adjusting the mani. screw made zero diff. I spoke with Darryl today and he said sometimes the black buna o-rings fit TOO loose and after they sit for a while they do not seal the air all the way (which I think would explain why after the first shot it shoots 100% until it sits for a while again) so he recommended using the green o-rings as much as possible because those don't have that issue. Interesting...he also said the Luxe 2 won't be done probably till next World Cup and that in the future he also wants to make a poppet version of the Luxe to compete with Planet Eclipse markers. Cool stuff...

I also just noticed that that first shot only puffs when the gun is turned off and let sit for a while. If the power is left on it always shoots 100%. Could this be an electronics problem? Solenoid doesn't get enough power to fire 100% after power-on?

I was having the same issue a while back, I rebuilt the noid (even went as far as to swap in a different spool from a shocker noid i had laying around) and then it work like a charm. I dont really play often enough to see if its 100% fixed, but so far shooting here at the house it has been great, letting it sit and everything. I had assumed it wasnt the noid also (being serial #2308), but every gun is different, I would suggest servicing the noid or swapping a new one in to see if that cures the problem.

Hopefully there is a definite answer in the future this has been a popular issue lately (the one puff after powering on).

Lame...I hate messing with noids. If I had a spare I would swap them out but I don't. Maybe I can get another...

Sent the Luxe to DLX last week. Hopefully they will be able to solve this issue for me because I am lost at this point. It isn't bolt stick that makes that first shot go puff.
