That's a huge part of why these guys only let the lesser known extreme metal bands into their little society they've created. Give me a reason the black dahlia murder can't be extreme metal when the only difference between them and other extreme bands is the fact that they cleaned up their music slightly/had a better recording budget and they actually have a fanbase.
They may be lesser known to you, the outsider, but to people within our society, the bands aren't as obscure as you think.

metal sounds like complete *** to you because it doesn't resonate with you. That's fine, but instead of letting it be, you want it to sound safe and watered down so you can digest and understand it. If your posts are indicative of anything, it's that you don't "get it" you probably never will. It's just not for you champ.

just for the record, i totally understood that analogy. i know who both of those bands are and i have friends that listen to real punk i know that those bands are totally fake, got it, got the analogy, made me look like and *** hilarious ha.
lesser known to me, more known to you, the difference is BDM is known between both. i guarentee they have more fans, and theres nothing wrong with that. in fact morbid angel isnt even that underground to anyone who likes any sort of metal.
ill stick to my metal you guys stick to yours i guess. ill let it be now. agree to disagree on the whole situation i guess.

I'd call them a metal band. To be honest their music just bothers me so I don't care too much more than that. Just pointless album after pointless album.
i've only just started experimenting with them, been trying to look a bit more into metal recently. not really black metal or the like. it's eh so far, probably just not really my genre. BUT I SHALL CONTINUE THE EXPEDITION.

There is some terrible metal that is a collection of over distorted guitars attempting to be br00tal for the entire song and there is some great metal made by very talented muscians.
