Who remembers...Hit 'n Run?!

I was born and raised in the Portland area and moved when I was 17. My love for paintball all started there and my "home field" was Hit 'n Run. Many great memories there, so if anyone else has anything to share about the place POST HERE! Begin the nostalgia.

I worked at the Portland Hit N Run for years back in the 90's, then it got bought and for a while it was Alpha Paintball, then it went out of business. Now its Portland Paintball and its just indoor airball.

Some of my first games ever were at Hit & Run back in '94. Lots of fun. Used to love it when they'd turn off all the lights to give people a chance to move around from room to room.

Crossfire started up right as Hit & Run shut down and a few of their regulars landed over in our group. They love talking about the good ol' days if anyone wants to stop by sometime and get nostalgic.

yeah, i remember american paintball adventures. played there a few times.

inferno41, we have probably played together at sometime in the past!

i was a regular at (the original) hit and run for years. started playing there in '91. i was on the timberwolves, h & r's home field team. had a lot of fun for a lot of years at that field. all the supergames (my first was number 7) and night games. back then, there would be 30 to 40+ people on any given walk-on day.

the very first field i played at was warpaint international's when they were in brooks. that field had a big deck that over looked the main field. back then, everyone was using pumps or splatmasters!

I love hearing these old stories.
Wish I hadn't moved away from Oregon!

You guys should set up a day to play with old school markers, and try to play at an older field to make it feel like the good old days

The first few games I played in Oregon were at H&R Indoor in Tigard, back in 2000-2001.

Same here!
The game doesn't feel the same as it did back then.
That was when Mags and 'Cockers were still ruling the field.
And no one looked at you weird if you had a pump.

It was a change from playing in the midwest the previous few years. Spyders ruled the field out there in those days, and being outgunned by the cockers and angels was a new feeling.

Ya Jeff Tweenies old field was a good one. I remember the firebase field very well and played against some Warpigs back than. Chuck and Zoli who later joined up with Bonebrake and Phantom Force were on that team. I miss the good old days.

Ahhh, Phantom Force. I know the Hansen brothers who were on that team. Dustin and Dalton. Good family friends. There is a video from 1996 that aired on ESPN of them. So awesome to watch! And check out how young Dan Bonebrake is haha.

i remember when we use to make fun of people who shot semi's! "you must not be a very good player if you need to use a semi..."
but then more and more of them started showing up; vm-68's, 68 specials, and then the f-1 illustrator.

does anyone remember the coastal rangers? spook troop? dueces wild? how about paint costing a dollar a tube? that would be ten paintballs, kids...
later, paint came in 2500 round cases and averaged around $80+ a case (early to mid 90's). most expensive one i ever bought was for a tourny in las vegas: $125 each! i think i went through 2 or 3 that weekend.

i actually played an outlaw game about 4 years ago at which i uesed my old phantom (circa 1990). it was half way through the day before some of the guys on my team noticed it was a pump! they had never seen one before. kinda sad, really...

i would love too. it's hard finding a group of guys willing to do it. even harder getting the younger generations interested.
