PSP Wednesday Sessions 2016

My friends and I had a great year grinding away and improving our game at Paintball Sports Park. There is absolutely no better way to spend "Humpday", then playing some paintball. It's an open field format, so if your looking to run drills, run points, this is where it's at. A typical Wednesday session looks like this:

Warm up drills such as- laning off of break, snap shooting, bunker call outs, timed low body scenarios, closing game scenarios, one on one's and whatever else is requested.

With enough players we can run actual points, 2 on 2's and up to 5 on 5's. The better the weather the better the turnout, but lately myself and a few other die hards have been cranking out the reps regardless of rain, snow, freezing temps, and when it gets dark there are huge flood lights that keep us going. The weather will start improving soon and staying light out more and more.

We show up around 4pm, but be prepared for cross town traffic and evening commuters coming home. About 7pm we've burned through our case of paint and some of us start to wrap things up. There's a few who will stay even later then that. The park closes at 9pm.

We get plenty of higher division players coming out with regularity, from D4 up to D1. It's a great opportunity to learn and grow your game, and as always having fun. Let's get some more players out there this year and breaking up the week in style.

I'll be updating this thread like I did the old one and make sure we always get a good turnout. Alright I hope to see everyone out there!

This is great because I have Wednesdays and Thursdays off and live in Spokane. I've been wanting to come over to practice... but I just can't get over there on the weekends unless I take time off, which I like to save for tournaments. I personally would be able to come probably twice a month.

We'd love to have you down at the Park! Let us know in advance. When someone makes an effort like yours, we tend to ramp up our attendance to make the most of your time. It's always better with more people.

The last session we had a Pro player from Uprising at the Park, running drills. We were lucky enough to have him get some points in with him. He shot us a lot, but it was good to see how a pro moves and how accurate they are. And it was fun.

That's awesome. Yeah I'll definitely be coming out quite a bit for sure.

I just wanna play paintball!

The 3 feet of snow on the ground out here doesn't help.

Tomorrow's forecast for Jan 13

"Rain likely. High near 45F.
Winds SW at 5 to 10mph.
Chance of rain 80%. Rainfall
near a half an inch.

Humidity 95%

Sunset 4:43pm"

It's not that much rain, it shouldn't bother anyone really. My only advice is to store your paint in the car to protect it from the humidity and cold. If you don't, your chances of getting breaks will increase pretty dramatically. Should be at least three guys from my team showing up, if not more. Come down if anyone wants to break up the week with a little bit of paintball.

I believe it's field paint only, GI SPORTZ one star.

You guys have been using 1 star during your practice sessions? How is it? I've shot the better stuff and hated it... Yikes!

The summer of 2014 it was not good. Not bad, but definitely not good either. Oblonged shaped balls a plenty.

2015 it got much better. But you still get a higher amount of bounces.

This year, it seems even better. The roundess of the balls are consistent and good. You are still going to get bounces though. But at least it's not breaking in the gun or barrel. Overall we really have no complaints about the paint. Oh, and it flies straight for the most part.

We have carried every grade of paint from several brands like GI Sportz, APX, and Valken in the past. 99.9% of the time tournament players buy GI 1-Star, even with several higher grades available. We are more than happy to carry higher grades of paint if players follow through with purchasing it.

I've had good experiences with the Valken and GI SPORTZ paint. Never had an issue with them. In 2014 I can't remember exactly what it was, I think it was APX. Unless it's an event, I am more then happy with 1 star. No breaks, flies straight 99% of the time. Actually the last outdoor event at DBS I shot 1 star the whole time and did just fine. Yes the other side got bounces, but I was shooting so much paint that I was getting kills just fine.

Should be a decent turnout this Wednesday the 20th, and no rain.

The turnout was 7 total, excellent for a January in my book.

We had a great time. I'm not sure if I mentioned it or not, but we had a pro player at the Park a couple weeks ago. That was pretty cool to see and I hope more pros start popping up and in as the year goes by.

Look for Friday's to blow up though. In the spring and summer, a lot of players love to end their work week shooting their markers, and then going for beer and food after.

I would love to make it. But that Tacoma traffic is bad. I don't think I could make it on time with work.

Could you take the bremerton ferry and then drive down? would that be faster? Idk I'm just curious myself because I'm going to be driving from Port Angeles to practices in a few weeks when I get home from overseas.

I'll be on vacation so I'll have plenty of time, but prefer not to sit in traffic, even if I take a longer route, as long as I'm moving I'm happy!
