I bought a nova 700 that someone took out the velocity screw, velocity cap, velocity washer, and regulator spring, i was told if i put an inline reg on it would still work good so i put on a ANS Gen. X-2 Reg. I aired it up and the barrel moved inwards and no leaks so i fired and BOOM!!! the barrel shot off with such force that the end of the gun hit me in the chest. This made the three metal slots holding the guns barrel break off. Is there anyone out there who can EXPLAIN TO ME WHAT HAPPENED? Can someone help me get this thing working? can I send it to someone to fix? Please reply. Thanks.

your pressure was way to high as for getting it fixed im pretty sure your out of luck their is no manufacturer support anymore its pretty hard to find any parts for that gun let alone a body i think your best off parting out whatever you can and getting a new marker

Try www.palmer-pursuit.com. Sounds like you need three extra slots milled into the body. How bad was the barrel damaged?

The barrel just needed to be put into place still works fine. The barrel is 16 inches long and has a rare muzzle break thing on it. The pressure was way to high because of the velocity things being out right? Thanks!

Your reg was set too high. Make sure your reg can go below 100 psi. Next time start at zero and work your way up until you get the velocity where you want it.

The velocity things controlled how much pressure the internal reg was set at. Now that everything is gone and you are using an external reg, the pressure of the external reg controls the velocity. That's why you need a low pressure external reg. Novas run at around 90~120 psi. Too much pressure and they go boom.
