Few Mini questions.

Hey all,
Looking for a new marker and was interested in a Mini, so here are a few questions I have.
1. For all of you big-handed guys out there is the Mini really "That small?"
2. Has the mini ever had issues with the Virtue board? The reason I ask is because the Ions tend to be having some troubles with them.
3. I heard the Orange Bolt was nothing but a nightware, is this true, and if so, why?
4. Last question. I have always loved TECHT Bolts, and will always throw them in my marker. Which do you guys think is better, the Delrin or the Aluminum bolt?
Thanks everyone!

1. My older brother who is pretty "big" thinks my Mini is just way too small. (He shoots a PM8.

Hm, thanks for the input. What's your say on the mini, in terms of size? I'm not a huge guy, in fact I am about 5'11 or so. My hands aren't "gorilla hands." My hand is exactly 7 inches from my middle finger, down to my palm (yes, I measured it ).
Thanks!

1. That is for you and only you to decide. Find someone with a mini; Be it a friend, a pro shop, or just someone at the field and hold it and see if you like it.
2. They have not been a large source of problems.
3. When they first came out there were countless threads saying that many of them did not work.
4. No comment.

Thanks for the info pballin16.
I suppose I'll make my decision based on the offers I receive. I tend to adapt easily when it comes to using a smaller or larger marker, so hopefully the mini isn't too tiny.

The mini really is not for everyone; If you have the option of holding it prior to purchasing, I would definitely take it.

Thanks again. I will see if my local shop has them on display. I know they have them for sale but they are usually boxed up and ready to go (never seen them on display before).

I bought mine because everytime one was brought to the chrono it worked!. I can't say that for a lot of the other markers I've seen. Now be it operator, or marker, the stock MINI's always worked. Once someone "upgraded" there was usually an issue of some kind. Mine has had no problems as far as function. I love it. I have big hands (6'5" 275) and it feels very natural for me to hold. I'm a TIPPMANN guy but I will not put this thing down. I agree with Ballin16, hold it and decide.

Thanks for your input.
I currently have another offer on one that I may take. The seller says that the noid has a slight "delay" when you first turn on the marker. He thinks it is a gen 2 mini. Is this delay normal?
Thanks!

what do you mean by delay? and how long is slight? if he's trying to shoot it before the board's fully booted up then that has nothing to do with the noid

If he's talking about FSDO you are probably gonna want to steer clear of it.

Hey Sicandhopeless,
I'm not really sure what he means by delay. He simply said "slight delay in the noid when you first turn the gun on." Does this sound like something that is normal?

It is probably having a problem with solenoid stick. This should be solved by cleaning and re-lubing the solenoid.

Hm, I'll have to think it through then. I'll ask him to make an airing up/shooting video (or dry firing at least) and see what's going on. Last time I bought a marker with a "small issue" it was a total nightmare =/.
Thanks guys!
How would this noid stick look like by the way?

Hey guys, were any Titanium Grey Mini's (apparently it's a LE) made in Gen 1? I currently have an offer I may take for a titanium grey mini, but whenever I ask "What generation is it" I don't get a response. I'm asking many questions, so he may just be skipping over that specific one.

There is no such thing as a generation of mini; The only things that are different generations are the parts inside.

I understand that, but people tend to brand their Minis by the term "Gen" or "V," so I am going along with that. I suppose what I should have asked is, were titanium grey minis made alongside the older minis?

Hey guys,
Did any of the Minis ever come stock with a 14 inch barrel? I heard somewhere that they did, but all I am seeing is 12 inch barrels.

Alright guys, bought a Mini off someone here on PBN (not the one with the solenoid issue). It is coming with an orange bolt (he doesn't have the stock one) but no matter where I look, the orange bolt seems to get bad reviews. Does anyone here actually have an orange bolt, and does it work well? Should I just save a bit of cash and go for the TechT bolt?
Thanks guys

Edit: Also forgot to ask. When it comes to the eyes on the Mini, are they usually reliable? Sounds like an odd question, I know, but let's just say I owned a marker with ribbon style eyes...
