Did they break off or just fall off?

You are just going to have to call DP and go from there. Not much choice since they are the only ones that have replacements. Also, I would call them instead of sending an e-mail.

people have had this problem in the past when they tighten their eye covers too much... poor quality machining/metal used is also a contributor

When you get your new eye covers, do not tighten them as much as possible. Make them snug. If it's just a snug tightening you won't have this issue.

Depending on your color scheme, DP may or may not have your color eye covers in stock. The cost of shipping is minimal depending on your urgency to receive them, overnight, etc. They are about $40 or so a set. Good luck getting them to replace them at no cost, they are not covered under the warranty. Like the dude above said, blue thread locker.

Jesus. You don't need to blue loctite your eye covers down. just make the screws snug into place. Screw it gently until you can't turn it anymore and then a very small turn more. Nothing will happen to the eye covers if you leave it snug. You don't need loctite of any kind, or an o-ring behind the screw.

You can put loctite on it if you'd like a hell of a time getting your eye covers off though.

Sorry for the necro, but this happened to me a few weeks ago. The right eye cover (color green) during the middle of shooting a rope literally popped off the gun. Screw still in place holding down the little metal lip that holds the plate to the gun. Damnedest thing I have ever seen a marker do. Gun had been played with only a couple times so the screw was still at its factory setting.

Pretty sure DP is replacing the eye cover and the ball detent that was lost.

Call regardless. See if they will replace for free. If not, then pay for some.

I would just buy a new pair because chances are the second cover will falloff as well. You have to be careful not to over tighten the eye cover screws because this will happen.

One of the eye covers on my FX broke off at SG45.

After inspecting the damage it looks like the countersunk hole for the screw that holds it on broke.

I called DP and they said that they don't warranty removable parts and that the eye covers only break when they are over tightened.

I thought this was a ridiculous response as specially since every other PB company I have ever contacted has gone over the top to make sure there products are always working even well after the warranty period (Tippmann, Kei Action Sports, Planet eclipse ect..)

A new eye cover is $25 + Shipping, and since I wasn't willing to buy a new cover just for it to break again if I went a little to tight. So I figured out how to fix it permanently.

Things you need:
Blue lock tight
2 #3-56 x 3/8 SS screws
6 #4 1/8th ID washers

Make sure to pull the bolt out and make sure the screws dont go all the way into the bolt chamber. If they do you can trim the screws or just put more washers. (I used did both)

Broken Cover

Screws Very Small....

All Locktighted and good to go

All in all it cost me $12 dollars for locktight, 100 screws and 100 washers. (Beats $25 + shipping for one eye cover) and I can tighten tehm without worry.

Hope this helps
