people usually go with a cocker pump, with $500 you can just about get any pump you want

You should go to the pump marker section and read the stickies...

I suppose it depends on what type of pump play you're looking at, because there are several styles.

I would look into a Phantom, they have way more versatility than a cocker pump. The feed bodies for the Phantoms are inexpensive also.

Yes I have both.

For $500, he's better off buying CCM! Even more options available for the T2 than the Phantom, for sure!

Do you have the opportunity to shoot a few different markers at all? You definitely don't want to just take the opinions of a bunch of people, and have the chance of not liking the marker you buy. I personally shoot a CCM, but I have shot some nice Phantoms, Palmers, Carters, and ground up built Snipers. It all comes down to pure preference. But before dropping 5 Borden's I would check out a few if possible

Here's my recommendation: "Not a Talon".
