My uncle is an electrical engineer and he's pretty geeky He designs microchips and computer boards and the like.
I'm not going for engineering--I'd be absolutely ****ing horrible at it and the bridge I designed would collapse and kill people and then I wouldn't be an engineer any more. I kinda just posted because my uncle is an EE and is a geek.

Any suggestions for graduate classes in CE ? Once I finish my triple major I intend to specialize in transportation.

I am a sophomore in Petroleum Engineering at OU. Hopefully I can get an internship for next summer.
To everyone who has landed an internship, did you get it by knowing people, applying for them online, or at the career fair? I am currently trying all three methods so if I don't get one I guess I suck pretty hard.

Here's a hint that won't motivate you at all: You'll never use it after the final. Other than that, I remember my professor taught us to use the acronym "LIATE" to determine which component should be "u" (I think). Logarithmic, inverse trig, algebraic, trigonometric, exponential. Made my world much easier.

Frankly, internships are difficult to get these days. Funding for projects is down due to the economy and many projects will be delayed. Both these factors will reduce the desire for interns at various firms. Family/academic connections helped get mine.
Just keep working at it. Time is on your side if you keep it up. Also, don't be afraid to look and apply for internships outside engineering. Often the variability in knowledge helps both parties.

could be worse. i just came to the realization that entering my senior year, almost all of my classes are still referred to as introductions to the topic. talk about a broad field.

that's what they are, but ME is such a broad major, they're considered intros, i guess. only a couple of classes directly build on each other, if there was an option to have a concentration i'll bet it would be different.

Dang only one other Chemical Engineer here? Thats where the fun stuff is!
My school forces me to pick a specialization but I'm going to pick up a Materials Science Engineering Minor instead.

Different universities use different titles but it should come down to the same ABET categories regardless.

probably does. i'm just judging by the covers of the books. 800+ page books called "an introduction to..." or "fundamentals of...", i'd hate to see (let alone try to carry) the comprehensive guides.
