the quality isn't bad, it's just not superb, but it definitely gets the job done for those of us who don't feel like waiting 10 more days for the premiere.

I've heard nothing but good things from people watching the leaked copy, and honestly that's just what I expected. AMC is solid as far as quality, and so forth, and the series is superbly written. Not to mention Frank Darbont isn't going to F around w/ this series.
I decided to wait, though. I just want to watch it late at night after I get home w/ my kids from candy hunting, crank down the lights, turn up the sound, and let my 52" LCD pander to me in zombie goodness.

It really was that good. The pilot does a great job of capturing the feel of the comic. There isn't a ton of zombie action because the focus really is on the characters and establishing the world that they live in. But when the zombies are around, it's always spot on. Make-up was well done and they didn't skimp on headshotty goodness.

Glad its not too much zombie. The comic is full of them, but they're always like the people walking on the street. Always in the background, but you don't even notice them until a scene involves interacting with them directly.
I was hoping they kept that. The tension of knowing they're always there, but you don't have to see them constantly. Then you get those big shots where it's just a huge amount and you remember the scope of their situation.
It's always about the people. That's what I'm growing to like about AMC. It's awesome, and full of everything but it's always about the people. Breaking Bad for example. Sure he's a meth dealer/cook but it's not about that. It's about his inner struggles, family, etc. Love the station now!

SO good. Just got done watching it...It's amazing how even though I've read the series, and I KNOW nothing is going to happen to Rick, my heart was still pounding when he was walking through the hospital.

Finished reading all the comics (Awesome, absolutely awesome comic series) and now I'm hooked on them. I so hope the show follows the comics. I know there is going to be some tweaking but if they keep it close WOW its going to be great. Thank you AMC!!
