Need advice on building a pump

I want to build a pump, but I'm not really sure how to go about doing it. I would really like to do it for under $150, but I can do more or less. My objective is basically to have something to use during the slower weekends at the field.

My main question is, should I just buy a cheap mech cocker in bst then expand upon it, or would it be smarter to try building a pump from the ground up out of miscellaneous parts?

Do you have to build? Is it something you wanna do?

If not, you can buy pumps for at or less than $150 on B/S/T.

If you do, Trilogy's can be had for mega cheap and pump kids can be had from anywhere from $25 to $60.

Well my plan was to get something nicer than a trilogy pump for the same price, which is why I'm wondering what the best approach would be.

To be honest, a trilogy is no different from any other cocker when you remove the pneumatics you know? Granted, Trilly bodies are kind of boring and bleh, but functionailty is identical to other snipers.

How about a Azodin KP? They can be had for around $100 used and about $150 new. They are pretty nice.

I'm not sure about the kaos pump. It just doesn't seem as fun to shoot

Well, you can get a pumped superbolt on ebay for around $90. All it needs is a reg and a bottomline.

I'm considering picking one up.

a WGP autococker body is a great way to start a pump marker. All are the same except milling.

Don't some have polished internals though? Or is that only the ccm pumps?

Also, do I have to look out for hinge/slider frames at all or are they interchangeable once the pump kit is on?

Trilogies are not as smooth as 2000-2005 cockers. Trilogy pumps have a bend in the pump arm. This bend is fed through the ram mount. This cause drag. It makes the pumping action not as smooth.

Get yourself a 03+ cocker. These have removable threaded feednecks. You can unscrew it and put another one on there. Other wise you have to cut the feedneck to put an ego feedneck on it.

I have gotten a 2002 cocker with a CCM deluxe kit on it for 120ish.
So you should have no problem getting a 2003 cocker with ccm deluxe kit for 150

I think I'm gonna do this, but does anyone know what the lightest reasonably priced cocker bodies and frames are? Also, are there any clear advantages to a halfblock or midblock pump?

just cut it off rawr!
but trilogies can be smooth since they were polished on both the top and bottom tubes
