Excal Re-Assembly Questions.

I stripped down my Excal months ago in anticipation of getting a new anno, but I never heard back from ATMF and I don't have the money to pay for anyone else to do it, so I'm putting it back together for now.

However, all I can find is a Viking Re-Assembly Guide... it's still useful since the markers are similar, but is there one (with working pictures) for the Excal? If not, someone might want to make one....

Also, I don't have any AKA gun oil. What exactly is it, and what can be substituted? I only have dow33 and dow55, neither of which will work (I'm assuming).

Thanks.

I might have some oil from my old Spyder, I'll have to check what kind.

I'm not really "stuck" just yet, I think I know how everything goes back in, but without oil and a good guide I'm wary to put it together. One thing I'm unsure about is which board ports the solenoids and eyes plug into. I know it's the 4 ports on the end of the WAS board, but I don't remember which is which. But I haven't looked at the Viking guide much yet, I was more wondering why no one has made a similar guide for the Excal by now (or if anyone has).

Thanks for the tip, I'll check them out. ATMF was going to do an old-school graphic anno for super cheap, but they just stopped answering my e-mails. I might try calling.

Check out the WAS manual on AKAOG. Should have the plug schedule there.

Yep, still got it, though I haven't even gotten to play with it

I'm tempted to sell it for money to buy a new camera since I don't play much, but it's a nice marker and I'd love to get it a new anno and make it the one thing I hang on to.

Alright, so, I got the marker back together only to realize that I'm missing the set screw for the ram cartridge (not the valve cartridge). I will look around some more, but if I can't find it, where can I get this??

Also, got a lesson in AKA tolerances after busting 2 o-rings pulling the cartridge back out, doh. Does AKA sell an o-ring kit, or is there anywhere else to get one?

I can't find either of these items on their site, but they might be labeled something that I'm not recognizing.

This is what happens when I leave a fully disassembled marker on the floor of my room while I'm gone for 2 months and my Mom just HAS to move all the parts into a little box. I'm surprised I didn't lose anything else...

Send a PM to Destructive Customs or his lackey fsrxc1
Jared has the parts and o-rings and stuff like that on hand, he just doesn't have it all on their website. They'll be able to take care of you.

Yakitori did an excal rebuild pictorial about 5-6 years ago, but I haven't seen him on in a while, and the pic links are long dead.

I thought I saw something on youtube last year that may have helped. check there.

Thanks, I'll probably go to DC for the few I need for now. I have a friend who's putting together kits for Vikings and Excals since nobody else really has them for sale, if anyone's interested in something like that you can send me a PM about it.

I was pretty surprised that DC doesn't already offer that... guess there's not enough of a demand for kits.
