Since Chuck Hendsch is also commissioner of USPL (correct me if I'm wrong) theres probably gonna be a big push for them coming at events and such. Unless their only meant to be budget balls of course.

You guys are fast AND brutal.

Thanks

PS It's about letting Field owners know about the announcement at the PBE show in a month. It's not about spilling those beans today. That's going to happen at the PBE event.

so now paintball begins to move forward again, first the air, guns, hoppers, and now the paint. I hope more companies follow suit to better or change the product each and every paintballer needs before they buy anything in order to play.

(Un?)fortunately for paintball, with the slouching economy I've noticed people's allergies to bull**** becoming much more acute.

I'm not sure I want a "durable" paintball.

Edit: I see a patent application for Bioluminescent paintballs with a fill that lights up when they break. Cool, but I don't think that's the big announcement.

yeah, paint breaking in your marker rather than on your target is a much better alternative

I used to buy Glow in the Dark Paintballs from Paul Ciesium's old company. I think it was called Night Paintball (or maybe that's just what he called the game). I also bought 40 of his Loaders with UV LEDs built in to charge the paint before you shot it. Only issue I had with the glow paint was that it smelled like a fish butt. Either way, I think I originally met Paul at the IAO trade show many years ago. I remember him being very enthusiastic and he had lots of good ideas.

If this new product is what I am hoping it is... I will be VERY excited and I will be making it my Field Paint.

I wonder if this has anything to do with the molded paintball (rather than gel encapsulated) that Aaron from Lucky Paintball was working on. I recall there being an enormous startup cost to produce, but actual per case production costs were lower. If so, I hope he finally gets something back for all the hard work hes put into the sport, and isn't getting screwed over yet again.

Aren't paintball's already "Environmental friendly"? They are like 100% biodegradable correct?

quick story. Back when Hellfire came in suitcase boxes, there was an indoor field in my hometown that was really just a warehouse that had a giant maze in it on the ground floor and a loft area upstairs with balconies and rooms to run through. Not a tournament field. We used to play at all hours there and lots of the night time games ended up with one side controlling the lights on the other side because the switches were located on ground level. I bought this paint, and one of the glow hoppers and used this paint at the field. When the lights went out, it was pretty awesome. I was the only one who knew when his shots hit someone and could see where I was actually shooting because I could see the round in flight and the break left a glowing dot. It was an experience that would only have been made better if the hopper wasn't a shake and shoot and it had more UV LEDs in it, and multiple colors in paint available. I couldn't convince anybody else to buy the stuff because of those two reasons. The company soon stopped producing the paint, but the field remained. All the way up until the day we tore it down, when we turned off the lights in the place, the paint I had shot all over the place still held a glow. The stuff was amazing.

His company was Wretched 7 and he manufactured the Dark Legion paint

Paul did an amazing job in bringing a new level to night games. Unfortunately the patent for the glow in the dark encapsulated paintball is held by some asian douche in VA who won't give it up. Same guy who owns the "traccer" rounds and "traccer" barrel attachments. The asian DB stopped manufacturing the products years ago, but won't give up the patent because he knows that Paul is working on a way to move night play forward and he wants to pounce with litigation when that happens. I've emailed paul back and forth about this over the last few years. I will go out on a limb and say when he releases something, it's gonna be big (at least for the scenario community that plays night paintball).

if you talk to the skirmish fanboys, only skirmish shoots paint that is completely environmentally friendly. which is why a $23 case of paint costs $80. Apparently.

I heard about these a few weeks ago. Made out of water with a plastic shell. I was told these paintball might be going for as low as 25.
The shells and balls are also supposed to not be affected by the weather. That's what they mean by more durable.
