Whey has been shown to aid in weight loss, but I feel like if you weigh (whey lol) 300lbs it's more urgent that you lose weight. If you're strict on your diet and exercise you can drop a considerable amount of weight relatively quickly.
You don't need anything to aid in weight loss other than exercise and diet. And it's better that you go to the gym more, for less time. I had never worked out regularly, or been able to, until recently. I'm in the gym probably 6 days a week, but it's for about an hour each day. Most times I'll ride my bike there now that I'm closer to one. But you're less likely to burn yourself out if you're in there for less time. Count calories, operate on a deficit.
is what I use, but there are sites like www.fitday.com
which are basically the same. Livestrong has a better database but some people don't like operating of what is given in the label on foods, so fitday is good for that. They usually just have the generic form of most foods.
