chinup alternatives?

just curious if there are any alternatives to chinups?

Going to start rippetoes Monday and for the first week of doing it i won't be able to splurge some extra $ on one of those doorway pull-up bars until the next week after.

i do all my lifting at home in my nice little "home gym" in the basement, so a gym is out of the question for one exercise.

maybe i'll visit a playground and hit the monkey bars for a couple chinup sets..

chinups/dips are secondary exercises. Worry about your big lifts.

Yes sir they are my main concern. Chinups are pretty much only benefiting the biceps anyway correct?

Getting back into boxing again and now trying to focus on becoming as strong as possible. Rippetoes along with boxing training sounds like the perfect combo for me. When i used to fight, i would only train on speed and movement, with virtually no lifting since i fight in the "peek-a-boo" style like tyson used to. But it wasn't very effective when I didn't have the natural power to devastate my opponent with the counters this style of fighting requires. So improving my general strength will benefit my style and power greatly.

Chinups are one of the better exercises out there. They work your arms, but the majority of your back as well. I've not done curls in forever, just chin ups and pull ups.

Lat Pulldowns work the same muscles for the most part.
