I recently acquired a Tippmann 98c with some nice upgrades but the gun its self was in horrible condition. This is a project I've been wanting to do for some time now but until recently have had no time to do.
Here is a quick overview of the direction I'm heading with the project:
Air line routed up thru the grip frame and out the top to for the trigger guard. Also removing the front grip mount and rear sight mount.
After some time on the mill the front grip and lettering was gone:
Next came time for the internal spaces to be made to accommodate the air line:
Next I went ahead and removed the top sight mounts in the back:
I also milled the slot for the right side cocking at this time:
Now it was time to test fit the new air line assembly(Note:I will be using a single piece hardline setup when its all finished):
Once it was assembled and everything functioned properly it got broken down and painted. Now this was 3 days before Christmas and my wife got me a powder coating system for one of my gifts. Had I known this I would have waited and powder coated it but I am planning on doing that this summer. Onto the pics:
I am currently waiting on a Magpul AFG for the front of it and will be pretty much finished. I still need to do some small things like run the hard line, powder coat it and tune the response but it's working pretty good as it sits. I'm sure I am forgetting stuff but I have to get going so if you have any questions post them up and I'll get around to answering them eventually......
