Elite NFL QB's

These are guys I all consider elite in no order:

Peyton Manning
Drew Brees
Tom Brady
Philip Rivers
Tony Romo
Aaron Rodgers
Matt Shuab
Brett Favre
Ben Roethlisberger

looks about right. I'm tempted to say McNabb is elite too though. And Roethlisberger is crazy inconsistent. He was good last year, about average the year before, good the year before that and then bad the year before that.

To me, there are three "elite" QBs in the league right now. Brees, Brady, Manning.

Those are the top 3.. Rodgers and Rivers and those guys are still trying to climb the stairs to get in reach of knocking on the door.

Pretty much. "elite" is a pretty strong word.

Not really. Personally, I'd take Rivers and Rodgers over Brady at this point.

Rodgers, yea I could see that. Brady though? Nah.

I agree, 3 guys in this order are considered "elite" - 1) Manning 2) Brady 3) Brees

The next rung down are the rest minus Big Ben. I dont think hes anything all that special. Good, but not as good a passer as some see him.

I could see how someone would take Rivers over Brady, but I wouldn't count him out yet. He has a pretty stout resume.

before last season I would have agreed with you, but at this point I think Rodgers and Rivers both showed that they are probably better qb's than Brady now.

He's had 1 season of stat padding and they didn't even win the SB. Fact is, when they won those 3 superbowls, his individual numbers were good but not great. They haven't won anything in 6 years and therefore I'll take the two qb's with better numbers on worse teams (rivers and rodgers).

4,400 yards , 28 TDs and 13 INTs is a good ****ing year, especially considering his biggest weapon played the entire season with a seperated shoulder and his Oline was a shadow of its former self. Brady is still on the elite level and Rodgers and Rivers will probably never come close to anything resembling Bradys 07 campaign.

I think the fact of the matter is that he has better numbers, and 3 SB's. If Brady was put on the chargers or packers, the media would almost certainly report it as an upgrade for either team.

Oh mannnnnn Rodgers already has thrown 2 4000 yard seasons, Brady has 3 in his entire career.

He DOESN"T have better numbers. Rodgers and Rivers both had better numbers last year. I don't care what the media reports, that doesn't make it fact.

Tier 1: Brady, Manning, Brees
Tier 2: Romo, Rivers, Rodgers, Roethlisberger
Tier 3: Favre, Schaub, Manning, Ryan, Flacco

It pretty much drops off from there.

Why are Eli Manning, Matt Ryan, and Joe Flacco on the same tier as Brett Favre and Matt Schuab? That doesn't make any sense.

Because Favre throws too many interceptions and is over 40 and Shaub has yet to prove himself over a period of time.

You've already said it yourself in reference to Brady's 18-1 season: one season doesn't make a QB. Their numbers are really so similar that it comes down to a person's opinion, which is why I said I could see how someone would take rivers over brady. but I wouldn't.

Yeah, but that's well below his norm.
