Need Help With Karni

Hey PbN, I need help with my Karnivor. It's what I believe is called "Half-Stroking" where the block will go back and it'll load paint but no air is released out of the bolt.

I've fixed this by twisting the gold piece in the bottom cylinder in but it only works occasionally. It'll fire maybe one out of every three shots.

I've also played with my regulator quite a bit.

Anyone have recommendations?

Battery was the first thing I tried.

I cleaned out the solenoid as well. It's working fine.

too much pressure can result in the same effect as not enough pressure. Try sweetspotting it. Lower the pressure until the marker doesnt cock at all, then up it until it does. Then after it cycles reliably, add another 1/4 of a turn.

i'm not sure if i ever experience that with a lpr

your issue seem to be the sear noid not working right or the it's not fully cock back with each pull of the trigger

The sear actually never occurred to me. That might be why it's occasionally shooting.

I'll give that a try and let you guys know.

...lug depth ppl.... If he says his LPR is set correct and it is cocking, and the battery is new. Odds are its lug depth.

It was actually the lug depth.

It's shooting consistently now.

Thank all of you guys for the help.

Alright, update.

I was apparently wrong, it still isn't working.

It'll fire every other shot now.

It's fully cocking back each time. It's just that sometimes, it won't open the valve.

I've been playing with the lug for a while now to no avail.

If the marker is fully cocked then there are only a few reasons it won't sometimes open the poppet valve.

1) (most likly) Your Lug depth is still too low.

Take off the grip frame, and then cock the gun. Slow push the sear solenoid plunger up until the hammer lug is released. It should release the hammer lug just before 1/2 way though it's travel.

2) (doubt it)the HPR is too high...WAY WAY WAY too high...

3) (same at number 2) You hammer spring is weak...WAY WAY too weak....

I will still stick by my first though. Lug Depth....

It should be hard to move that lug around...if not, it will just vibrate its way lower as your using the marker.

Alright, it's now shooting consistently. Huzzahs are in order!

I've re-soldered the eyes and those are working.

Now I am trying to find a way to keep my 3-way hoses from blowing off. Is there a technique to doing so? I've lowered the 3-way as much as I can for a full cycle.

You need new hoses....
Once they come off the barb, they are streched and don't give a tight fit anymore. If there is enough slack in the hose, you can cut off just the very end that is streched and put the hose back on.

And what fixed your problem?

I've replaced the hoses, they just seem to blow off if I don't fire it for a certain length of time.

I actually am not sure what fixed it. I took it apart to get the eyes out and put it back together. It worked right away.

you can also use hose clamps,
also look into new barbs,

\you may need to clean your ram, but id check your spring tensions with the IVG and valve, remember the LPR need to be higher to recock the gun when you have the IVG screwed in far or you hammer spring is stiff.

....you have new hoses, but yet they are still blowing off? I never had had a hose blow off....or leak. The noid will leak WAY before the hoses on any e cocker I have ever owned.

If you truly have your LPR up that high to be blowing off your hoses either your Barbs suck, never ran into that either, or you need to find out why you need your LPR so high.

Where is your IVG set? Do you have it cranked all the way in? I see this alot...people slam the IVG all the way in trying to get velocity. It should be no more then 2 or 3 turns in from the back. You should be able to get to chrono speed from there...if not its time to start changing springs.

Also, what are you using to lube your sear and hammer with?
