THe bottom part is not left hand threaded. If you have access to a vice, stick the remaining part of the reg in it and get a strap wrench to remove the tank from it.

righty tighty, lefty loosey
if it is stuck you may need to buy a new tank. Or take it to a pro shop for them to take it off.

...and good luck. When I removed my Throttle reg, it was one of the most difficult things I've had to do by hand, as I recall.

When I did one I drilled a hole right through the reg (Started it where the fill nipple used to be) and inserted a 12 inch steel rod to gain a lot of leverage.

I've done things like that... a bit ridiculous if you ask me, but occasionally necessary.

yes sometimes it is, and when the reg has been destroyed already "no blood no foul."

Mostly annoying, I think. I hate that point where you're sure what you're doing is going to work, then you find out you have to take the next step.
Replacing your own reg can also be dangerous. I will again recommend sending the vessel to a tank company like Crossfire or Ninja who will replace the reg for you safely after they hydrotest it.

PBN=SUA syndrome

Why were you trying to take it off yourself if you were sending it to get hydrod? They do that **** for you and crossfire actually insures your tank so if they break it they replace it.
