Question macdev gti pressure drop.

Is it normal to have pressure drop from 110 to 84 when firing rapidly?

So long as you are not getting drop off you are fine.

Try that with paint...wonder if there will be some difference with actual back pressure instead of dry firing.

Okay, I'll try it with paint. I just bought the marker and was testing it out and wanted to make sure everything was normal. Just wondering if all GTis pressure drop dry firing rapidly

I don't know? Ill have to try with mine next time I get out to play! Hopefully everything is good with your velocity as well...if you can get ahold of a chrono like a virtue clock to see what your average fps is that would be interesting...especially if you one ball and make velocity but your stream averages significantly lower...your thread has me curious in regards to the pressure drop, but I'm still wondering if back pressure is a factor.

Mine does the exact same thing, just the movement of air and the sensor changing to reflect that. Mine 'idles' at 101 psi, and drops to around 80 psi whilst shooting +/- 1 @ 295.

This is probably more detail than you care to know but the pressure transducer measures only static pressure, not dynamic pressure. When air starts to flow in the gun (while you're shooting), some of the static pressure is converted into dynamic pressure, which varies with velocity (1/2*rho*v^2).

If you could find a Pitot tube small enough to stick into a pipe in the gun, you could measure the stagnation and dynamic pressure in there

So in other words the pressure is still there, it's just not being measure by pressure gauge.
