Clone GTI Battery Connector Concerns.

Greetings,

Recently bought a clone GTI used. Marker is pristine. Also know it is a GTI from factory due to the green camo anno job. It seems that my battery cable connector keeps coming unseated from the connector receiver on the board. When this happens the marker will no turn on. I have to remove grips and pull the connector out and re seat the connector for the marker to turn on. After installing the grips, the marker will turn on for a little while. Twice I went on the field and the marker would not turn on. Had to leave game and remove grips and re insert the battery Connector. This seems like a very simple fix, and if I just have to purchase a new battery with connector that's fine. Was wonder if there is an easy way to make sure that connector does not fall out of the connector receiver on the board. Thanks.

You can use a dab of hot glue wont hurt anything and will come off easy at a later time.

Ty sir, was thinking something like this. I know I can't used super glue due to it eating plastic. Any other suggestions?

Contact Eric at Aggressive Sports and just order a new harness. They're cheap and you don't need to mess with anything.

Spoke with Mark from the east coast warranty facility. Instructed me to try the battery harness first. Harness has been ordered. Will post after installation and test.

Installed the new battery harness (Aggressive sports sends parts out fast!). The condition is still present. Very difficult to say what is going on. It appears that the harness is actually not coming loose. It always seems to happen after the grips have been re installed. The marker will still turn on right away, but after about 5 minutes the marker does not start. The only way to get the marker to turn on is to remove the grips and reinstall the battery harness.

I wonder if you have a bad connection on the board somewhere. Might need to send out the board to be looked at.

She had to wait to ask me what to do about it before she replied. That's the only delay.

I have an issue with some energizer batteries. The battery harness does not fit snuggly onto the battery its self and it will turn off when the gun fires because the vibration separates the battery from the connector slightly.

I do not have this issue with Duracell batteries.

I wonder if MacDev even has Energizer batteries in Australia. I doubt it. My temporary solution is just using a bit of electrical tape to secure the battery to the harness but I will be on the look out for a replacement harness that I can find locally.

Which side of the battery is falling out? I use energizer batteries all the time and haven't had any problems.

on that note, i would love it you guys switched to the hard plastic connectors seen here:

i hate soft ones used now, I've always had issues with them breaking eventually since its such a pain in the *** to get batteries disconnected from them.

The problem with those ones is that they take up more space. Might bee too tight in the frame.

I made a "hard" 9 volt harness from the 5 pack you can get at Radio Shack, wire leads come out the same side as the the stock harness and it fits nice and snug with no battery rattle like you can get with the stock harness. Of course I had to kill the stock harness to make it...

Im having the same issue with my GTI now. Swapped the board with another and the problem is still on going. Any news on what is causing this problem?

might want to reach virtue, as resurrecting this 2014 thread may not help you as much. Or make a new thread?
