Dang. Can you even buy a new mask with the gen 3 ears? or do you have to go through Sly llc them selves. But your saying there were no problems with the LE Tans! Thats good to know. |

Any mask that comes in the box, not the round tub will will have the new ears.

I got mine today and everything is fine. It's titanium in color anyone know what gen that is??? Also has anyone tryed to mod flex softys or i3 pro ears yet?? I contacted sly and no reply. Thanks

how do I know if i will get the newer versions of this mask? I would not buy the first generation with the hearing problems id rather spend that $ on events.

There really aren't any hearing problems with the mask per say, it's just the foam is thicker and doesn't have the holes in it. People mod them all the time, I did with mine.
I found an exacto knife is sharp enough to cut the cloth lining over the foam cleanly. Just don't cut too deep or you'll cut into the mask rubber. After that just pull the foam out from under the area you cut with your fingers and kind of pick at the glue a bit to get that layer of foam stuck to it off.

There are no gen 3 ear pieces. Only 2nd gen which are a bit thinner with a hole in the center.
Any 2011 mask will have the upgrades. Any parts other than the strap replacement have to be gotten directly from Sly.

The gen 3 ear piece is the thinner foam with the hole. The gen 2 was just thinner then the original foam.

Must not have been that significant of a reduction cause I've pretty much had a new one of a different color since they came out. But thanks for the info.

I've either bought a new one or have had a replacement sent to me, with the exception of the new LE's, so I should have technically have gotten every lens/foam combo.

the new LE ones are the ones with the new foam though. Unless you have those, i dont think youll be getting the new foam. I havent heard of them selling it seperate though. |
