Got shot in the mask today.. paint came through between the mask and lens and got in my eye.. is there any way to prevent this? Because my eye is pretty ****ed up and I'd rather not have this happen again, haha

Sounds like the lens wasn't installed correctly. Make sure its tight and not wobbling around when put the clips back on. I too have been hit and the paint doesn't go all the way through the cracks unless the lens is loose.

This may be an old issue, i just started looking for a thread concerning this. I saw this happen twice this weekend at a tournament at our field. I was wondering if any more information has come up?

If I get shot right at the bottom of the lens, the spray will come through to my face (eyes) - my lens is in correctly. This has happened more than once and with two different Profit masks... I've used my Proto Switch goggles for years and never had the sensation that I may not have total eye protection.

I love the mask, but would sure like to avoid this if at all possible - what's the answer from SLY?

It sounds like the lens would have to installed incorrectly, or maybe the paint came in through the three slits under each eye? on the colored part?

Do you guys know if the painting methods people are using (krylon fusion) would work on the profits? what about plastidip on the bottom softer part?

Seriously? I was gonna cop some Profits when I have the cash, but if paint can come through between the mask and lens then **** that. I want full eye protection with my mask.

Chin strap gone - but mask is pulled tight against the face - part of the beauty of the dual straps, in my opinion...

Ya i saw those. Nice work! I was thinking of using the spray form of plastidip not the dip in kind lol. But did you use fusion on the frames?

. with the chin strap removed it allows a small hole on both sides on the mask just below the lense. my only real guess is that small hole when hit right below the lense, will allow some paint it. A WILD GUESS is all this is

Anyone tried to contact sly about it?

This was more paint than a small hole would allow in. I got shot at the bottom of the lens, just to the side of the nose. It was only one ball.

Last week I was shot in the mask with like 5-7 balls and no paint got in at all.

I guess there's just a certain spot that it happens.

could it have come through these holes?

They are sort of drilled out at an upward angle (towards the eyes).

Possibly, but the hit was at the lowest part of the lens, where it dips down. A little to the right of the holes.

The foam is above (if you will) the holes and should keep any debris from getting close to the eyes if the mask is on correctly - mine was on where the foam was pressed firmly against my face...

i wear mine like it would be pushed up against the upper part of my head, and then the foam not really pressed firmly under my eyes

so is the paint coming through between the frame and mask a serious issue? or just a freak incident/people not putting their mask together correctly?
