Go right ahead, just have a good plan.

What do you like to do? What do you enjoy? What are your hobbies?

You can start a business by doing something you like and teaching others or doing work for others related to what you like.

My buddy bought a mower for $50 last summer and went around mowing yards. Put out the word that you are available. Maybe hang some signs at local gas stations and supermarkets if they'll let you. $20+ for a small yard is typical so 3 yards and you'll be "playing for free." A few yards you mow every week or every other week will get some cash coming in. I have learned though that when someone calls you, get it done ASAP. That will increase their likelihood to refer you to their friends or neighbors. Maybe make a sign to hang on your car while your mowing and people may see it and approach you with their yardwork too. Mowing could turn into planting flowers or mulching too. Depending on how involved you want to get it could turn into a full-blown job. One of my friends just started a business this summer based on yards he mowed in the past, he bought a truck and expanded from just push-mowing to a trailer and riding mower, weed eating, mulching and other landscaping stuff. Thats now his full time job that supports him and pays his bills. If you like being outside and working on lawns this is an easy-ish way to get started making good money. Maybe a spin-off could be to shovel driveways or sidewalks for people in the winter.

Like PbGoods said just try and transform something you like into making money. I still haven't figured out how to get paid for drinking beer and sitting on the lake, but you can get creative. I like mowing so thats what I'm doing this summer. If you like painting or powerwashing, whatever it is, there will probably be someone out there that wants it done, but doesn't necessarily want to do it themself. If something like this interests you, maybe even contact a local business that does it already. Maybe they would be willing to hire you and then you wouldn't have to worry about finding customers.

Hope this helps ya. Goodluck.

Seriously man? Not trying to be mean, but starting a legitimate business is gunna take more than $100. If you are a mature adult I would suggest starting up a marker annoing business. It's a specialty service so you would have to know what you're doing and read a lot about it before diving into it, but in the end it's not that hard and it's a business that will probably get you more customers than you would even want. If you have questions about it PM me. Goodluck bud

$100 wont even cover advertising. unless you want a very slow start business that will take so much of your time and you will most likely be in the red for over 5 years.

I read in a study, to start a legitament small business, you should set aside at least $600,000.00 ready to be put into your business. For a Legitament like a restaurant kinda thing, but I guess you guys are talking about mowing lawns?

How much you need really depends on what type of business you want to get into. I have setup business that used $1000 in capital, and eventually successfully grow to be generating six figure annual revenue. But it requires a lot of knowledge, skill, hard work and time.

I dont mean to be a dick but your post is rather ironic.....you say you did well last year but your sig says "going out of business sale"

The fact of the matter is $100 bucks isnt going to get you alot, yes you can use it to make a few bucks but you probably wont make yourself rich. I started a little side biz about 6 months ago, its a janitorial company. I bought cleaning supplies ETC, started advertising and all I do is pay people to go clean. I have never cleaned a single proeprty.....so what I am saying is yes, it can be done for cheap. Just sit down and think it out then make it happen.

heres a thought.... Buy products from a china based site like dealsextreme and spend like 75bucks. Then see how much it is to rent a booth at the largest flea market around your area. Then try to sell your products for 50% more than what you paid for it. May work. I've been thinking about it.

I know entrepreneur magazine (entrepreneur.com) has done a couple of these articles for starting a business with $100 or $200. Best bet would be to look at that website.
