Simon has a good set of dimensions posted on his website in This thread, but you may need to register to see them. I'll email you the PDF with the dimensions.

Thanks!!! Looks like I'll start making threaded barrel receivers instead of my existing clamping system...

thinking like that is whats holding the sport back. extremely far back

Have you seen the car that is built entirely out of wood? i mean every god damn piece but the engine, drivetrain, and the rubber on the tires is wood. yeah the wheels are wood, yeah the frame is wood, yeah the body is wood, and so on.

The only problem with wood is that wood has natural defects which can be a source of failure. I design bridges made of wood or logs for 149,900kg (165 Ton) loaded trucks. As such there is quite the safety factor involved when it comes to rot and natural wood defects.

This is not a problem with aluminum, steel and manufactured plastics.

On another note. KEE owns WGP, but Simon hasn't said one way or the other whether they will release the *official* specs for AutoCocker threading.

I am familliar with concept products.

I think you missed the point. The point was: Is wood actually a suitable material? The obvious answer is no because of the naturally occuring imperfections as a result of normal wood growth. Those problems are not associated with traditional materials. This is not a function of rot which will determine longevity.

Hold on guys.... i'm confused... what the heck are we talking about?? Wood?? you want a paintball marker made of WOOD?!?! Or are you talking about a stock? I think I'm really misunderstanding...

Look, you can make the marker out of any material you want, but I HIGHLY recommend that you make the major parts out of aluminum because the parts either hold pressure or holds the barrel in alignment. but if you are savy with wood, I guess you could a grip or stock out of wood. But those are about it. You could make the cylinder out of Nylon (mine is) simply because it doesn't have to handle much pressure and it easier to machine.

No, no. The Hellforger drew this convo OT. He was referring to that car made of wood. Impractical if you ask me.

I think he was simply pointing out that sometimes you can use alternate materials, where as I am of the train of thought where using alternate materials should be practical.

I have a good friend in the import business, who says you can get a small run (20-25) of these done through her company's production plant in Fuzhou, China. That's enough to get your feet wet.

The final design will use a magazine instead of a cylinder. And will be semi-auto and fully mechanical. No batteries to deal with. I think it will be a real winner for players that like to snipe (ambush). I'll get some pics of my playing with it this weekend at a big BT game.

Sounds good to me, I'll shoot her an email and after getting her permission I'll give you a means of contacting her. Great work man, only one thing you should have done is video documentary. That would have been a GREAT watch.

I'd like more information however...

What marker is this based off of? mag? (wild guess).

Does it have a built-in reg? accepts regs?

Barrel threads?

Video? That would be seriously sweet...

And any other info to make me drool!

Totally custom marker. I machined all the parts myself except the grip, barrel, and stock.

Currently uses a Karnivor regulator. The final one will probably use a similar reg. But they will be aftermarket and changeable.

Cocker threads

Picatinny for any scope or red dot.

Fully mech eventually, but the first 20-40 may be electric. I have to firing mech designed, but I have to build, test and refine before I release it. Electric markers will be convertable to mech easily. and vice versa.

Final probably will not have a folding stock. I'm trying to figure out the best mounting system that will allow different stock to be installed by the user..

The mag will be custom and currently will be a 7 shot. I'm looking at making a staggered mag that will allow for 15 shots. Plus will develop a drum mag that will hold 45 shots. Again, this is a sniper/ambush rifle. Don't ***** that you only have 7 shots and have to change mags. This rifle will never be able to keep up with a ION with a haloB.... Is not meant for that kind of play.

Hmm, what else... All aluminum, anno'ed black, suppressed barrel will NOT be avail stock, will support ball, first strike and sniper rnds (avail this Oct)

I'll see about a video this weekend, but don't know if anyone will have a camera.

You could always try using an A5 stock stock mount style seeing as they have the most stock options. A video would be awesome as well. This is probably the one time I have ever been antsy about wanting a marker that has yet to be released.

Gimme!

What about using commercially available parts when possible?

Example: an A5 style cocker threaded barrel receiver instead of manufacturing one yourself?

the grip and stock would be aftermarket, but all the other parts would have to be custom... I potentially could do the example, but I'd still have to make a part that receives the A5 thread.....

Looked at the A5 stock and its build to plug into the back of the A5 (obviously). I need a stock that doesn't require such complex machining to mount... Two bolt holes would be Ideal...

this is my design feel free to use it. its pretty basic in concept but its functional and i can get you a parts list and suppliers i would even be willing to send you the cad files (solidworks) you can do whatever you want to the mounting bracket. this design keeps in mind the capability of a mini machine shop ie mini mill and mini lathe.
