Why don't you think you could sell it for $1500? Places like http://englerpaintballguns.com are selling $200 guns for that amount on a regular basis.

Engler's stuff is really pricey. A guy that is local to me does the same sort of work for ultra cheap. It's not the same quality as Engler's but the guy here makes do with what he has...

Reminded me of this:

Just thought of another marker selling for silly amounts.. the Gargoyles. $600 for a Phantom. I'm sure you could get 100 folks interested and bring the price down.

I think so. Still those replica guns were pretty cool that they "work".

Everything I own is for sale...except my wife.....she's for rent!!! Or I could build one custom for anyone interested. but it will be expensive until I get a company to make the parts... i'll have to make the parts by hand.

That's pretty cool what you did there, very simple and easy to carry perfect for someone in the "sniper" role. I agree that something custom made should be used for the stock but I don't know what you could do different to what you used.

As far as the machining time goes, I totally agree with you that the first initial run of any part in a machine shop is going to take more time. Like you said setting up the machine, changing tools, aligning the stock, etc does take time. The second run or any afterwards will always go faster.

What equipment did you use to make those 16 parts, I'm assuming a lathe and possible a verticle mill were used, anything else? Perhaps you might consider selling the plans to those of us that have the equipment to make one ourselves? I totally understand if you wouldn't want to what with possible copyright issues in doing that.

Actually all you need is a lathe, mill and index table. Is all pretty simple. and I'm not opposed to plans, but from past experiences in offering plans I get sooo many emails with questions!! I just can't keep up with all the questions and nuances of assembly and getting "tuned". Both for my minigun and P90 plans. Even when I put a disclaimer that there was no "support", I will get a **** load of emails asking questions. And most of the questions are from people that have no business machining... Some even ask me how to make parts with nothing but a dremel!!! So, I'll consider what I can do. I'd still like to offer these, but I just have to find the funds to make them professionally....

And yes, I know some players would like a different stock but I'm not sure what stock would look better.. Maybe I'll offer the rifle as is and if players want to change it, they are welcome to.

I have the necessary equipment and experience to run them, it would just be a matter of time. Bridgeport for the verticle mill, Cincinatti Lathe, and two index tables. When the time comes for me to try a project like this, I might just have to hit you up for some plans.

Sounds like the best solution for that.

PM me when you are ready. I should have all the drawings complete in two weeks. However, I use an aftermarket grip and stock, so no drawings for them...

I had the same issue when I released the plans for a ProMaster rammer...

have you thought of building in plastic? would bring prices down some and wouldn't sacrifice reliability or sturdiness

Machining block plastic? Yegads.

Problem with molding or extruding plastic is the initial setup costs.

Not sure how cost effective 3D printers or Stereo-Lithography is.

Lots of parts can be made that way, but the tolerance is not as good as you would think, nor is the ability to thread and hold pressure. One could chuck something into a lathe and combine the two to make it work. Bearings are also a good way to tighten up tolerances with parts that my move.

i'm not saying everything should be made that way but it would save alot of machining time and he could sell more which would off set the cost of stereo-lithography

Pretty much all parts need to be made of Aluminum. There are a couple, like the cylinder and bolt, that could be made of delron or nylon, but everything else either holds pressure or need to be rigid for consistent shots... But if you look at the cost of raw delron or nylon its more than aluminum.

Does anyone have the actual specs on the threads for a cocker barrel? I need the drawings for the receiving of the barrel.
