GT leak and velocity consistency issues

Greetings MacDev family!

So I picked up a used GT a few weeks ago and I must say coming from a Luxe I am very impressed. I LOVE THIS THING!!!

I have put about 4 cases though it since I've owned it without any issue until the other night I aired it up and heard a very small leak coming from behind the grips/trigger area

So I dove into researching the problem. I concluded that I needed to replace a few drivetrain orings. I replaced/hand fitted the (3x) 017 valve orings, the (2x) 011 power tube orings, the 016 bolt switch oring, the 15x1 bumper oring, and the inner spacer 017 oring. I made sure all the orings fit together quite snugly without lube, testing each oring position against its respective mate - i.e. valve fits snug into valve keg etc. then applied a fair amount of lube to all drivetrain orings.

I installed my newly fitted drivetrain only to hear the small leak still present.

I then decided to removed the trigger frame from the body. The small oring near the rear body looked fine. I also took off the noid and checked all the orings on it, wiped the mating surface clean. I checked the subplate(B?) screw for tightness near the rear of the body - it was fine.

Reinstalled everything and the leak remained.

So now not only am I having a small leak, I'm also having velocity spikes and dives.

Before any of these issues were present the gun was shooting beautifully with a dwell of 16. I tired lowering it to 12 previously but this made for poor consistency which is another issue I would have liked to have fixed.

Any help on this would be appreciated.

Remove the regulator internals, up inside the reg body there will be a black mounting screw. Remove that screw and their should be a 1x4 oring on that black screw. If it is shreaded or even miss shaped in any way replace and lube that oring before installing screw.

Check back after you replace that oring to let us know if problem is solved.

mine leaked there once and it was because I was using a 850psi tank. I know its supposed to be ok with High output tanks but since switching to the 450-550output pressures I have no more leaks

If you run the HP tanks you have a chance at blowing the ASA oring as well. SLP or LP is perfect.

Hopefully you got the problem fixed OP!

Okay, so had a friend disassemble and service the reg and re-lube the power core. He said the oring that SHOOTNPOO suggested to check was in tact so he just put a little lube on it and reassembled it. Leak was still present but it had subsided to almost nothing. Decided to go further and had him clean and relube the noid. He also found some slight condensation between the subplates which he cleaned.

Ta-da! No leak. Gun shoots perfectly now with +/- 3 FPS with a dwell of 13

I was wondering about that, if I was perhaps stressing things using a tank that is not LP/SLP. I too have read that the GT should be able to handle 800psi input pressure, and I'm using a stock ninja reg but have no idea what pressure it's putting out .

Yeah, thanks for that, I did not know that. I am going to get a ninja SLP pro reg ASAP. Thanks for the fast responses everyone!

Special thanks to Ninjitsu232 for the quick turn-around time so I could play today!!!

You can run a PRO Ninja reg with all the shims taken out, if you have one. If not I'd just invest in the SLP but that's me ^_^
