psp vs nppl?
i not trying to start a war of formats here im just wondering. I think the psp could step it up. why is it that the nppl making half of the money the psp does have - turf
- a webcast at every event
- 2 sick places to play at(hb and vegas)
- real prizes for d3 and d2
idk it just doesn't make sense to me

Unfortunately, PSP doens't have a webcast at every game any more.
Also I think you should consider that people play for the sport, and love of the game. Sure Turf is nice, sure "real" prizes for d3 and d2, but people wanna play the way they have fun. Maybe the locations of NPPL are better or cheaper for certain people. I'm a fan of PSP and Race-to but if NPPL came to a town near me I'd play.

This can open a big can of worms when you talk about one or the other. Some people feel that NPPL is true to the trigger speeds and shows more about the skill of the player. Where PSP does race-to because of the speeds of the games with the ramping. Think they both have their goods and bads and hopefully as both grow back into a solid tourney format financially it will be good to have them both around. Never know it could be like the MLB with the American and National league they have differences but maybe at times there could be cross play between the two formats.

imo one thing that the psp really has going for it is the amount of games you play for your money. if you play a race to 4. they even if you lose every game in your 4 matches you will play atleast 16 games. And thats just if u lose them all. But i do realize 7 man is a totally diffrent game. I like how 7 man has simi but psp imo has more going for it than the nppl, even though nppl has turf
edit: On the webcast front i watched the psp webcast every second it was on and i have watched the nppl webcast, and although im glad the nppl has something where you can watch it, the psp one just blows it out of the water. It has a ton of angles, plus i really like how they had matty as the main host and they had lots of pro guys come up and comment inbetween their games. There is also way more action in the psp than nppl, which makes watching way better imo. I would rate the psp webcast an A+, i would rate the nppl B-.

I think you are giving them BOTH way too much credit !
I have seen High School media clubs do a better job broadcasting their own soccer events then either the PSP or NPPL have done this year with their coverage.
I dont know what your standerds are , but I think where it is related to media coverage , they both fail.
EDIT : On a side note , I prefer NPPL ...Be a Gunfighter, Roll your marker !

nah man the psp couldnt get the funding to do it. i think they should just totally sell it iout and just make it to where inbetween every point is just advertising for eclipse, and all the paintball companies. If they did that and they could prove how many people then they could try to get companies in the "real world" to sponsor it such as energry drinks ect. I was saying if the psp is an A+ then nppl is b-. I think the psp was an A just bc that was the first time i could stay current with who played on who and how teams were doing without just reading it on pbn you know?

I wish PSP had a Pump div like the NPPL does. I know it's not everyone's cup of tea, but it is nice that there is something for everyone. Especially if it was added in addition to the Masters div..

yeah i feel what your saying. I think pump on an xball field would be better than a 7 man field. i wouldnt play but still. The problem with that is the psp doesnt have to room or the time for it(im guessing thats why)
they have a ton of fields there and they play games for 7 am till 7 at night so thats the last thing they would do i would think. I do think it would be very interesting tho

NPPL needs to start using APPA yesterday but they have stepped up in terms of venues and prizes. Rumor is that NPPL is considering doing an hybrid 7-man xball format (essentially the race to 3 format being experimented with by the BCPPL). Looks fun as hell and it's exciting to watch.

Wondering if the rumors of an X7 format are true. Basically a 7-man race to 3. Saw it at BCPPL and it looked fun as hell. IMO it would be a cool change.

I might get flamed for this.. but I think most of you missed the point the OP was going for.
-He wasn't talking about the difference between formats
-or what divisions that are on NPPL aren't on PSP
-or how NPPL has prizes for div3 and div2
He's just asking/saying how come the NPPL with less money, has more "stuff"

ok i keep hearing everyone say that but i want you to think of it like this. if you planned to go on a 4 day vacatoin 6-7 month in advance at the time you have no clue what the weather would be right and they it rains. that sucks but there is nothing you could have done just like the psp amean what did you want them to do. Everyone keeps bombing on it but no one had a solution. it sucks, you know it sucks, everyone did and the majority of the psp events arent like that dude so yeah. The nppl is cool tho i like how fields are almost always turf and i also like how the layouts are crazy. I just think the psp has more potential to grow the tournament scene than nppl.
not because its boring or anything like that its purly because of this reason
i know in cali this doesnt aplly in probs in florida it doestn either but here it goes:For purly practicing its kind of hard to get 7 guys together, bc everyone always is dont something. but 5 guys isnt that hard to get together. Yes i know that for an xball event you dont take 7 im awawre. we play xball events we take like 10 but still i just see more younger teams pushing xball than 7man

the nppl has more funding, since i believe the new owner is pretty rich.
Also, according to others, the nppl events themselves are alot smaller then psp events.
