the geo2 has a different prop shaft as well as a new style regulator (s4 or sl4 i believe?) but it does have a slightly tweaked version of the ST kit in it as well as the ego10 style frame/board/software.

It's a Geo specific version of the SL3 reg found on the SLs.

If by spring mod you are referring to something like the Shocker spring mod, where the spring assists the forward movement of the bolt, then that isn't the purpose of the spring in the Geo2 at all.
The Propshaft of the Geo2 contains a sprung, pressure controlled "poppet" (for want of a better descriptive term), that closes off air flow to the bolt, as pressure in the firing chamber drops.
Pressure pushes the poppet back against the spring, and the spring pushes the poppet forwards when the pressure drops. The bolt is propelled forwards by the pressure in the firing chamber - just as with the Geo - and at that stage, pressure is still holding back the poppet, so the bolt isn't being pushed by the spring.

I've shoot both of them and i didn't like the first geo at all. The geo2 is lighter quitter, smother, and has alot less kick. I would recommend the geo2 to anybody.

Mine hasn't quit on me yet. I think it's a go-getter. Not a quitter.
