Hey guys, i was just wondering what a good dwell number for the Rev-I would be. I keep mine at 15 but some people tell me either 9 or 19.

Also are there any suggestions on what the "bolt return" number should be set at?

dont ever go higher than 15ms..

19? what gun do they shoot? thats ridiculous

you can use the autotune settings on the board to set the dwell and bolt return but keep in mind that is for efficiency only.


to tune for smoothness youl want do do it like this

this will work for any dp spool, ignore step 2 as long as your using correct orings for your bolt.

G3 tuning guide:

1. Use a good lube.

2. Make sure your o-rings are not overly snug fits - parts should move if you tap the assembly. Replace overtight o-rings. Most fits are OK from the factory, but can be improved.

3. Starting from a low dwell, increase the dwell (while at a reasonable pressure) until your velocity stops rising (the gun will also become VERY loud at this point). Then back off a point.

4. Dial HPR to desired FPS.

I have it pretty much stock...unless you drop in a TechT Bolt I would leave it stock. My Threshold is in the 10-12ms, but that has a TT Bolt in it.

but did you actually look at the numbers.

lets say a revi shoots 300fps at lets say (made up number) 100psi @12ms

if you bump the dwell to 13ms, what happens if you keep pressure at 100psi.

it might start shooting 306fps and have a tad more kick. Drop the pressure to 93psi @ 13ms and now your back down to 300fps

those are made up numbers obviously but thats how you "tune" these guns. Im not saying evertime you increase the dwell you will get an fps increase. the goal is to find the max dwell that will run the lowest pressure at 300fps.

if you go from 12ms to 13ms but get no change in fps, you just made the gun shoot worse and should go back to 12ms.

Here is a run-down of what I have mine set up with:

Trigger debounce = 25
Solenoid dwell = 13
ABS dwell = 0 (only set this greater than 0 if you are having first shot drop off)
ABS reset time = 10
Breech delay = 3

I found the 3 biggest things for a consistant shot are solenoid dwell (obviously), using a good quality lube (switched from sl33k to monkey poo and it is MUCH better with the Monkey Poo), and a good barrel bore to ball fit. I am at ~140 to 150 psi shooting at ~280 fps +/- 6 with pretty good groupings.

I now have the TechT engine but have not even tried it out yet...I know - - I hate it when life gets in the way. When I get a chance, I will be doing a straight compaison of stock vs. TechT so that people know what to expect when they first drop the TechT engine in the REV-I.

Yeah, the new bolt is prolly the single thing that will make the most difference in how your marker shoots.
