Oh, and since 1971, only two Big 10 teams have captured a national title: Michigan in 1997 and Ohio State in 2002, which really illustrates my point about integration killing the Big 10.

That's the case across the Big 10, for the most part. If you were to put college football national championships on some sort of graph or chart, you would see where the Big 10 won a lot of titles until right around 1970, when the SEC really started becoming integrated. Until that time, black Southern athletes headed north to play their ball. Once SEC schools opened their doors to them, they began staying home and programs like Minnesota and Michigan State fell out of relevancy.
They are pretty solid programs. Solid win percentage, a good history, very nice facilities but weak currently. They're gigantic universities so they're going to stick around and be average forever, with the occasional relevance.

Kind of surprised to see S. Carolina so high on that list. I mean, higher than USC and Tennessee??? Really?

This is a lie.

The Big 10 now lays claim to the titles won by Nebraska which include 1994, 1995, and 1997. Don't forget PSU in 1982 and 1986.

Agreed. They'll have a good season every now and then, but they can't do it consistently.

People always overrate the size of USC's fanbase. I don't know if it's because they're the only professional team in LA (cwutididthar?) or what, but people just always seem to think their fanbase is bigger than it really is. I can remember that stadium being about 70 percent capacity in the nineties.

And South Carolina's fanbase is one of the best in collegiate sports. They come out, win or lose.

Yeah, but PSU wasn't in the Big 10 in the eighties. Same reason the ACC can't claim any of Miami's titles because they weren't captured while the Canes were in the ACC. I know youz trollin tho.

You would say 15, because that excludes Michigan which has Michigan and MSU.

Alright, fine, Alabama has two in the top fourteen ... You could also make the argument that this state is the only state with two programs in the top fifteen from an all-time perspective.

Big 10 has 4/10 of the largest campuses by enrollment. OSU, Minnesota, Michigan State, and Penn State.

You've got a higher percentage of black people, so you might want to think twice about that.
