Regarding the $5 parking fee...
First I would like to thank all of you who attended Living Legends this past weekend at CPX Sports. This is the 1st time 2 national level events of this size have combined at one venue and there were some inherent difficulties and challenges to say the least. The most notable was the decision to add a parking fee.
Early projected player and spectator numbers were in the 6,000-7,000 range. To ensure that there wasn't a major problem with parking the decision was made to bring in a professional crew to manage the lots and to develop an over-flow lot.
While it was a joint NPPL/CPX last minute decision to charge for parking, we're willing to stand up and take responsibility. It was a mistake that won't be made again. That's official -there will be no charge to park for Living Legends players at LL4 and beyond. Lesson learned. Additionally, the entire CPX portion of the money collected will be donated to the Bob Gurnsey medical fund. Without Bob's vision and dedication, LL3 and every paintball event would not be possible. We hope you feel that this is a worthy use of our portion of the fees collected.
Again, we apologize for any inconvenience and the unforseen expense. We hope you all had fun at the event and hope to see you at LL4. Please keep the suggestions coming, without them we can not improve for next year.

Paul,
Everyone who has ever promoted and/or run a big event has made reasonable decisions that resulted in unanticipated outcomes that were less than positive.
There were times I made a career of it.
The true test of any leader is to have the courage and wisdom to recognize what has occurred, take responsibility and make corrections.
I had a blast at CPX at LLG III, due, in large measure, to your efforts on behalf of the attendees, your courtesies shown me, your evident administrative abilities and your more than competent operational staff.
I thank you on behalf of Bob who I spoke to for more than one hour yesterday. He was flabbergasted at what had occurred at the auction and deeply grateful.
It couldn't have happened without your help and support. You are indeed a class act.
Thank you.
Jerry

Very glad the lesson was learned - it really can be the small things that can either make or break an experience (and keep people from returning).
