and youre messing with super brittle paint which could cause barrel breaks. very thin brittle shell + high pressure air slamming against paintball = could cause shells to shatter and break

That's why I'm gonna test the bolts with them tuned to both High efficiency and gentle paint handling with MaxOC's guide

As long as the Underbore isn't extreme, there shouldn't be any barrel break problems, and if there are, I'll do the test again with the stock barrel and make sure to see if it really is just barrel breaks, or if the paint is breaking in the breech

Probably gonna be shooting Evil for this
Maybe AllStar? Marbs?
Anyone have any first hand experience with these? I shot marbs a long time ago, and Premium wasn't the most brittle stuff I've seen

I remember watching your video on the GBR ram!
Cool stuff dude

On a side note, I should be picking up the Eigenbolt today, and videos will start around Wednesday

I can take pics and prelim vids until then
:p

~Edit~

So the bolt just came in, just wanted to put out some prelim pics and first impressions

First thing I noticed was that the aluminum ring that replaces the rear bumper oring did not fit over the bolt guide
Upon further inspection, there was a thin line of raised metal, presumably from machining. A quick go over with a small hand file fixed the problem just fine

Next, the bolt did not fit as snugly over the bolt guide as the stock bolt did. Perhaps the stock bolt fits so tightly that it's detrimental to performance, and Lurker just machined the inside of the bolt wider, but it's something I noticed

Beyond that, I'm going to need paint and air to test the different bolts, head to head

Stay tuned!
I'll be making a new thread with the tests and results

I used my new Lurker bolt all weekend. The thing is SICK. Didn't chop once shot smoother and had a little less kick to it. I didn't fine tune it, was shooting it with 200 PSI input and stock everything except for a paint match on my barrel kit it and was rocking, I will fine tune it next week and it should rip even more. Was worth the price!!! Thanks lurker for an amazing product!

Has anyone finishedI am dead set to buy a aftermarket bolt within this week and I have narrowed it down to this Eigenbolt from Lurker or the MRT Bolt from TechT. Though the TechT MRT Bolt looks nicer, the design for the eigenbolt is significantly changed from the standard design. Can anyone provide proof that this bolt is not like every other lightweight Derlin Bolt ?

I believe if you read through this thread you will find TNTactical's review of the Eigenbolt. As far as the Tech T bolt it's not to well liked around here.

Just out of curiosity...
I thought the gold MRT bolt was ok?

I'm working on getting those youtube videos done right now as well
Pods are chilling in the freezer, and I should be completely done by the end of the weekend

It's along story about the TechT and I'd rather not drum up that thread again.

The eigenbolt is pretty unlike any other bolt system for the mini - we'll be getting more results in soon so I will let those speak for themselves. It is also significantly cheaper.

It took me a few tries to spit out what I wanted to say without sounding like a retard

If you go on YouTube and search for Invert Mini Eigenbolt, the video will show up
I'll definately be done with the test by the end of this weekend

And thank you for the kind words!
I think my Mini looks pretty good too

Looking forward to the videos. I think I'll order an eigenbolt once I get back to the states.

Can you explain how the bolt works? I can't get a good look at it on your site or on the vid.

Also, what is the correct pronunciation of "Eigen?" And how do you like the thread saver?

Eye-gen
http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/eigen (has audio)

When the solenoid opens, it shunts air to the back of the bolt. The back sail has a much reduced area, which means the initial forward force (force is pressure*area) is reduced by about 75%.

Normally, the rear oring seals off half of the solenoid flow, which is how the mini tries to slow it's bolt forward stroke down, stock. However, this also means that the bolt slows way down on the return stroke - its quite apparent if you've seen the highspeed of the mini cycling. This allows full solenoid flow across the entire travel of the bolt, while reducing forces low enough for the mini to pinch a misfed or bouncing ball. The initial thrust is slowed by the reduced acceleration due to the lower force to overcome friction.

Additionally, the bolt is delrin to help with kick, has an internally optimized flow (a smooth ramp to the face instead of a 90º ledge...more expensive to machine) and allows the front soft face to compress into an air space instead of being tightly wound around the metal face like a boxing glove.
