Haha, looks like I get to buy a new eigen today. My reg spiked and snapped the bolt in half. Sigh.

Hey lurker or irony, have any changes been made to the mini version in the last two years?

How I usually do it is clean off the lube, and grab the fat brass part with one of those grippy jar-opener pads, and then grip the poppet face on the flat parts at the end of the shaft (over the threads) with some needle-nose pliers.

Ah, was just wondering as I've had mine for a couple years and it always sat extraordinarily loose on the bolt guide. But reading the thread, that seems to be normal. Should I be running 012s on every gland or on just one or two?

forced the spacer on, ended up cutting the oring and a 1/3 came off but the rest stayed inside the spacer and its on snug. Hope itll work tomorrow. Also theres a square ring that came with the bolt. Any ideas what that for?

Square ring is for blurker mod I think.

Messed with my Axe for a couple of cases and my settings came out with the following, if anybody wanted more input on how the bolt performs with a polished stock poppet.

Dwell : 6.0 ms
Pressure : 160 psi
Bolt oring: - 017 urethane 70 durometer
Front spacer oring: - 016 urethane 70 durometer
Back spacer oring: - 014 urethane 70 durometer
Bolt guide orings: 1.5 mm x 11 mm (metric) urethane 70 durometer
Poppet oring: - 013 xring buna

Seems to shoot pretty consistently in the 280-290 fps range. I think I ruined my Lurker poppet so these settings will do for now until my smaller poppet oring comes in the mail.

so trying to decide on an upgrade

from reading this thread a lot of people have issues with this bolt
although i like the idea of a spacer

are the bolts still the same as 4 years ago?

I am not sure what you mean by "the same as 4 years ago". Mine works here are my settings.

installation problems I mean

either the spacer not sitting right or other stuff
anyways I'm looking for a simple upgrade to make the gun shoot a bit smoother, just looking around

There is an axe specific spacer that is very well executed this time around. The mini spacer is unchanged and I don't know of any changes to the bolt.

I am still holding out hope for a limited run of aluminum bolts in 7-series aluminum.

Is it the one for the axe or for the mini? The axe clam shell uses three orings.

So is there still fitment issues with the spacer for the Minis? I wouldn't mind picking up the bolt/spacer if it'll all just pop in without sanding, ect.

If you use the bolt to "press" the spacer into place it works fine.

I'm at a loss with my Lurker stuff....
Got the poppet, only had issues, back to stock..
Used the bolt for a while, started well, different sounding. However the last couple/few times I've played with the bolt, I cannot make 1 game without having a break... In which case I have to strip down my entire gun and clean it...
So, last weekend I pulled it out and dropped in my stock bolt, reset the board to stock and it all went beautifully from there, gun was whisper quiet, no breaks. I've had a real hard time getting my GS to shoot above 260fps and don't have a clue what to do about that (I don't blame the bolt for that). And have to run the reg at 200psi to even get it to shoot at that speed(it came stock at 200psi, and had to leave it there when using the lurker bolt)

Any clues? Ideas? Perhaps I just have a marker that won't work with the bolt and/or poppet? I've read through the entire thread of this and the poppet page and just can't get this stuff to work. (and i'm not clueless, been playing for 10 years)

It sounds like the spacer began to dislodge (or the spacer to bolt seal is no longer being made) - with the Mini GS can you tell me if:

1. You've got the mini spacer or the Axe spacer?

2. How's the friction between bolt and spacer?

3. If you test the system with 2 balls (1 in breech, 1 in feedneck) do you have blowback?

1. It is the Mini spacer (idk if there is a difference between the GS or older minis). And I don't believe it is dislodging because I still have to pry it off and have never noticed it out of place on the bolt guide.

2. I don't recall what the friction was like before I pulled it all out of the marker. However I did just buy several different size x-rings (010-016 sizes) to try and see if I can't get the right seal on both the bolt and poppet... What would you recommend I start w for size? (for the bolt and poppet)

3. It makes sense that I had blowback now that I think about it, based on where the breaks were happening. (Seemed to be in/at the feedneck)

I did just get a new solenoid from Empire as mine crapped out and it feels like it might be shooting hotter based on flow of air coming out of the marker but I won't know till next weekend when I get up to my field. (Really considering getting my own handheld chrono now) I re-read through a couple forums again since posting this which lead to me buying some more O-rings and see if that is my problem. It has just been frustrating not being able to use what should be a very consistent/reliable marker because it's been anything but...

Definitely start with the 016 for that location. and the 012s for the bolt guide.

013 seems to be best for poppet.

Blowback is a marker timing issue and would pretty much explain things. (The friction affects the timing)

Threw a new 016 buna 70 x-ring and seems to fit the same as the stock, which I feel some play between the spacer and bolt. Virtually no friction/none at all. I can hear the ring on the spacer rubbing the inside of the bolt as the inside of the bolt has these very fine ridges i'm guessing from the milling. I also tried using a different inner o-ring on the inside of the spacer and the stock is the only one I cannot get off without having to pry it off w/ a tool.

edit: I changed the stock o-rings with (2) 011 x-rings on the front 2 slots of the bolt guild, and (1) 012 (supplied with the bolt) in the 3rd position, this seemed to calm down the blowback issue (with 2 balls in the gun, 1 in the feedneck, it barely popped up high enough to touch my finger sitting on top of the feedneck), dwell is at 5.5ms, pressure at about 180psi (again no chrono right now) and back cap 1.25 out. Idk if that sounds about right or if it can be better??

Right now i'm only concerned with the bolt. Not even bothering with the poppet.....
