Due to the extreme weather conditions the NPPL Chicago Open webcast has been suspended due to safety concerns. On-site safety crews deemed the bleacher and VIP area unsafe due to the heavy rain and nearby lightning, which means the whole webcast crew had to be moved out of their filming area.
The weather is expected to blow through Joliet in about an hour or so, so stay tuned to this thread for more information as it happens.
Any questions you guys have about the conditions you can ask below and I'll try my best to answer them.
We'll make an official decision in probably an hour or so on whether or not the webcast will resume. Right now the grandstand area where the webcast team was staged is still being declared unsafe by event security.
Our Facebook has pics of the winning teams in three of the divisions, plus we'll be posting which teams are moving on to the finals. The rain is keeping us locked down in one position with most staff employees moved to safety positions in order to help keep the place safe.
Just pulled two of our webcast guys and they're going to be updating the main NPPL site with scores. I'm stuck in a dark booth doing updates. But I'll have the scores from the first five games from the Elite 8 playoffs from each pro team posted in a bit. I'll add a link to it here.
