I'm fast enough to probably make it to our 2nd dorito off break but i was wondering if this is a good idea or not.
And also how much paint does a d-side player usually carry?
It depends on too many things. To me I would be worried about center shooters shooting for the tape or side shooters shooting your center. It is ideal to me to get a back player to cover my tape and play inside the dorito cross field which stops snake and runners, which dorito depends on what lanes you can shoot and what lanes can shoot you. If you have like a can or something in the middle of the center shooting lane then go up to the dorito in a _| or _/ shape pattern because you might be able to stand and shoot longer and make it to the bunker slower if nobody has a shot on you. If they have a shot, hip slide and stay low and hope to draw fire so your backs can get on them.
So the answer is both really, more often than not it is better to gain more field which pinches the other team back against their tape and allows you better bunkers.
5man, 5min game is usually like a hopper and half a pod for me but I carry 3 pods and have run into the 3rd but you don't have to shoot that much. A pod is only good for around 15 seconds worth of solid rope at 12.5bps assuming 200.
