I look at markers and imagine how you would put them together. Like I'm buying a shocker body because I thought it be cool to put a timmy frame on it.. And make a shimmy.. But turns out people have done this and I had no idea.

when you say yes to a new $8000 building so you can put a $2250 converted cnc lathe into it just so you can make some valves that you design in a software packages that cost $10000 for guns that you can buy for $50

-You've ever spent more than $100 at a paintball shop with out buying a gun, hopper, barrel, or air tank.

-You've bought an aftermarket part for a gun before buying the gun to fit it on. (owned a Sergison K Frame for 3 months before I found just the right gun for it)

-You've bought parts for guns that cost more than the guns they were for.

-You have parts on guns that are older than the gun by at least 5 years.

All of the above is 100% true. Or at least it was 'til I bought an A5 just so I'd have a "grab it and go" gun...

Doc.
The ones that apply to myself

heres some for you guys

-When you shop at the local store as a last resort after trying to make your own replacement parts or buying at a hardware/electronics store due to the horrid markup on parts from a paintball company/store

-When you design and sell parts to make money by simplifying the design of the part

-when you run your bladesmithing forge to properly heat treat your autocockers sear and slider plate

-When you buy guns for simple parts such as the microswitch on the board because you dont like the feel of a metal switch

you made your own parts and have to argue with a paintball company owner(glenn at infinity) whether or not you can see said parts that you used his gun to test in

When you buy a mid to high level gun just because you had an idea to change it completely....and it killed you because you had to wait awhile because you didn't have the money right away!

-when you find a job that at times requires little effort, like working midnights, so that you can bring in guns to work on.

- you have a soldering kit, but also have a butane soldering iron so that if you ever at a field that doesn't have electricity handy, you can still fix stuff.

- you have specialized tools, that you either made or modded, so you can fix guns better than the factory.

- you list your projects in short term(few months) and long term(a few years)

- you've bought tools that can do only one thing for a mod, but its always in your tool box.

- people will search you out on a field because you are that one weird guy that has that gun or would know of that gun.

- you have to mark all your orings and screws, so you know what you have and can order more when you are low.

- you need to buy the cheap batteries so that you can afford to them in your guns, without changing the grips.

- you purposely search for broken guns in order to stock up on the hard to find stock parts to help keep your fleet working.

- you will refer to guns that you just bought as keeper, a flip and/or a hanger queen.

- you'll purposely buy guns for the one part you spied/wanted/need, replace the part you wanted and immediately relist it again.

- you go into business to make replacement parts for a dead gun line.

- you feel bad/down when you get home from work and you don't have any packages waiting for you(either guns or parts, your choice)

Over this past week, I was looking for some of my older parts, and discovered a complete BBT Tribal I'd forgotten I had.

Then, while looking around for some bits to get it up and running... I discovered a second Tribal I'd forgotten I had.

After that, as I was looking for parts to get that Tribal running- it's almost brand new- I found an entire Freestyle I didn't know I had.

Both Tribals were trade-ins, swapped for parts or repairs on other guns, and the Freestyle was one of those "Here, take this. It doesn't work and I'm tired of dealing with it" sorts of situations.

I'm not sure if that qualifies me for Voided Warranty or just says I'm a gunwhore.

Doc.
