JB weld and anno?

ok so I will be looking to get my project gun ano'd once Im done. But sadly when I was grinding down the inside of the frame to create more room, I broke through on a small little sliver. I was thinking I could just put some JB weld in there, then sand it down so it looks good, but im not sure if the Jb weld will hold up in the ano process? Anyone know?

Get it anodized, then put the JB on if you must.

Powdercoating doesn't even stick to JB Weld well. The anno process would probably disolve it.

Huh? What's PC got to do with it?

I've done a few of these for different reasons. What I found works best is ano it, then place plastic tape on the surface & patch from the inside with epoxy that has been tinted to match.

As JB Weld is neither Ti or Al it will not hold up.

Just a general statement on the ability of JB Weld to take a finish (really, the powder doesn't adhere properly), to illustrate that it is not a metal replacement. Used to help show that the "weld" in the name is of course merely a marketing term, not to be confused with true welding where actual metal is used to fill the gap.

Or if you prefer, that the "inferior" finish won't work, thus of course the "superior" finish won't.

JD weld contains Iron and is not good for anodizing or the anodizing bath. So no, don't try and anodize it. Acidrain has the best solution to your problem.
