No. Unless you would like a trip to the hospital (theoretically).

Do not do that. No place that's worth 4.50$ and a hot dog would refill an expired tank.

The tank was likely made in 03 and expires 3-5 years later.

And no, by law fields cant fill a tank that is out of date.

No exactly. It is possible to get them re-hydro tested to be okay to fill again, pending it does pass the hydro test. Call a local field to see if they are able to, or a good google search can give you the answer on where you can ship them to, to get tested.

http://www.crossfireinc.com/ , and then click the hydro box. Crossfire makes some of the best tanks, and they know their stuff.

tanks dont "expire", they just need to be re-tested every few years to make sure they are still safe. crossfire will hydro-test your tank for about $30 with shipping included.

Actually most tanks do expire. The life span for most fiber wrapped tanks is 15 years. If the tank is steel or aluminum it MAY not have a limited life span. You would have to check the tank and possibly the DOT website. If there is no expiration time then the tank is good as long as it passes hydro testing. Here is a link with some good information:
