It's hard to really see Young's throwing motion in a lot of those because he's left handed and a lot of those shots are from the right side. But in the 1st video, watch at about 1:05. And in the second video, watch at about 3:50. See him drop the ball almost down to his knee and then wind it up and throw it? That's the same motion that Tebow has. And that's the issue everyone has with his passing.

I was actually surprised to see it in those videos. I thought for sure he had gotten rid of it by the time he was starting in San Fran. I was going to rip you for not actually reading what I said. I said he had that motion coming out of college and to counter that you posted videos of him as a starter for the 49ers. In case you didn't know, he had been out of college for 7 years when he took over as the starter for San Fran.

Either way, you made my point better than I did. If a picture is worth a thousand words, then a video has to be worth 10,000, right?
lol, so everyone who holds the ball low has the same throwing motion? Tearbro brings the ball back way further then Young.

Tebow brings the ball down from where he cradles the ball. Young only brings it up.

That was what I got from the 30 seconds i watched both videos

Yea, afterall, most successful qb's don't have some of the quickest motions in the NFL. Then again, no successful qb can take a snap from under center either. And they CERTAINLY can't read a defense.

A super quick release doesn't mean you'll be a good quarterback.

Michael Vick.

Kellster, you should be happy. Titans get Blount and Stefon Johnson. That's gonna be one dangerous backfield, especially if Johnson is as good in the pros as people were predicting he would be before the weight incident. And Blount is a steal; they get him for practically nothing, and he's likely going to be behaving after all the eyes on him for his previous incident

If they drop it down to their knee and wind it up to throw it, then yes.

Not sure what 30 seconds you watched. Most of the shots of Young in those vids were takes from his right side and you can't actually see his motion. But if you watch the parts shot from his left, you'll see him drop the ball down around his knee then bring it back up to throw it. He doesn't wind it up quite at much as Tebow does, but still very simillar. Add to that the fact that they are runners and left handed and the comparison gets even deeper. Young was also criticized out of college as not being able to read defenses and not being very accurate with the ball. Oh, and Young suffered from multiple concussions too. Just saying.

Videos of him in college would show it even more I'm sure. And would also be more relevant since my original comment was about his college days.

Blah blah blah. How often does your NFL team take a snap under center?

Probably about 30% of the time.

To say that he CAN'T do that is terribly ignorant.

Titans had a good few days then, with Morgan, Curran, Rolle, and the two UDFAs

Steve young goes straight up, and doesn't bring the ball back as far before throwing it. Tebow goes down, then up, then further back. Just because you have no eye for something like this doesn't mean the rest of us don't. I also pointed out that young either NEVER threw like Tearbro or successfully changed his mechanics, because he certainly didn't have the exact same motion as tebow when he was a successful quarterback.

um what? Most NFL teams run plays from under center a majority of the time....And no, its not terribly ignorant because everyone got to see him fail at it at the Senior bowl and we've all heard the reports about him fumbling the snaps from under center. Not to mention, the Bears already had a QB out of Florida who had a nasty habit of fumbling snaps from under center even 4-5 years into being an NFL qb because he spent his entire college and highschool career in the shotgun.

I re-watched both videos and I still stand by my statement that Tebow brings the ball down while Young brings it up.

Yeah, I really like those acquisitions, particularly Blount, because he has first/second round talent. Johnson should provide good depth, as well. We've also got Javon Ringer back there, too.

I really wish we had made a move on Shay Hodge, though; he was the best receiver in the SEC in '09 and he catches everything.
