I believe it is because most of the players who would want to participate in a higher 5 man division, are playing the NEXL the day before.

Look at the overall team turnout. Disgusting if you ask me. Too many series, not enough players, add in a ****ty economy and here we are.

Anyhow, looks like Machine and Institution made adjustments. Good to see you guys able to participate.

13 teams for 3 man, 20 teams for d4 5 man - does not seem like a lousy turnout to me - ask yourself where the better players are going - even there 11 teams for 7 man 13 teams for xball - not horrid, certainly would not call that disgusting.

These number may seem impressive to a newbie to the league, no offense Cat. But back a few years when events used to be down at the cape there were at least 100 teams playing. Times are different now, but I think its great that the NEPL is going to have a solid season with the league. Lori/Ant really try to listen to the players and I never hear of any other leagues devoting that much time to the player/customer.

I think a large part of it was also the fact that the NEXL was not figured out until after all the AXBL teams jumped to ERFOA and NYPL.

when you say over 100 do you mean at all levels? since 25 is the cap for each league....5 man d4 is pretty close at 20 teams...

so yes, AXBL going away and NEXL coming in late will affect that - and how many teams are going down to MAPL, NYPL, NPPL? I would expect that effects things too...

I am not saying it was not bigger in past years, but 'disgusting' seems a bit harsh.

Yes I mean all levels, but when I played 5-man there were more than 30 teams I believe for 5-man.

Just looked - 3 man has a 16 team limit, the others no limit....I stand corrected.
Just seems like a lot of choices for higher level players - when it makes sense to pay the money to travel....

If your getting the value you want out of a perceived "higher cost" league, its well worth the money to travel

So is there even any interest to teams out there to play d3 5-man? It's not the NEXL but is for those who don't care much for the x-ball style format. Do people think it's going to be around for the next event or is there even gonna be a better turn out?

thats why field owners should work as one.when it comes to tournament play. like the erfoa was incredible in my eyes seeing is how they took 4 fields and 4 field owners and brought them into one league. making a regional tournament series.

if everyone worked together in the industry paintball would be fine, this has been discussed plenty of times

Seeing how the PSP is switching to Race-to-2 for 5man anyway, your really just playing x-ball lite, since its the same layouts and you have a chance to adjust your game a little. Makes more sense to jump to xball instead of staying with 5man..
