UL SLG = poor quality?

I have been reading on this slg forum and it looks like there's alot of problems with SLG's, is everything just user errors? like when the gun suddently goes to full auto? does the sear give you alot of problems?

is the rear bumper probler fixed? the plastic things that crack.
Is there anything else which can go wrong with it?
would a G3 be more reliable?

okay i have the 09 SLG UL. Its a great gun and they just fixed the bumper issue. The first was a black one that broke too easily, then dye made an orange one but it was too large finally they have the new green one that works great. And some ppl had issues with their detents so dye made a new orange set but i havent had any detent issues.

I have an '08 basic. No troubles with it at all. Lucky I guess. I did put in some NDZ spring detents in it. No more broker paint or less anyway.

Is there really a newer one? There is nothing wrong with the orange one from my experience.

The SLG quality is hit or miss. You may get a good one, or you may get one that will never work properly, no matter what you do.

The sear tripper design is just not very good. Even if your SLG works properly, it still isn't going to have a quality feel to it because it's a sear tripper.

As far as the OP asking about a G3.......a G3 is by far the better marker. There are more upgrades available for the G3, the G3 is more reliable, the G3 shoots more smoothly, and TechT makes a bolt engine for the G3 that turns the G3 into the smoothest shooting marker that you can buy for under $1000.

There's nothing wrong with a sear per se. Automags have sears and work much the same way as the SLG but don't have all the weird problems that the SLG does. I think it's poor quality control on Proto's part that causes the problems.

I'd like to say that all of my 3 SLGs (08, 09, 10) work fine, if properly taken care of. I am not saying they aren't a bit finicky at times, but if you are familiar with them then anything that goes "wrong" with it, is usually an easy, non expensive fix. That being said, If you can afford a proto 10, and really want a proto marker, I would get a PMR, or a PM7/PM8 that is a few years older, They are a better quality marker, and have the upgrades most ballers look for. There are very few upgrades for the SLGs.

Order of my purchases..
1. 08 SLG
2.Mini
3.UL 09 SLG

Go with the SLG. The full auto issue is usually caused by players looking to alter their sensitevity and get it too low. Mine has yet to break and shoots great.

the only issue with these markers is user error. noobies decide that they want the proto and mess it up or over-lube it. I have a spyder, slg ul 09, and a mini but the mini and the slg are the two i stick with. never had an issue other than forgetting batteries on game day.
