As has been said in other posts, a dedicated place to chrono your gun is critical and reasonably cheap. Then have the refs chrono on the field. If you shoot hot, you can't play. I got sprayed almost every game while people were getting checked after I had already been checked.

Other than that, no real complaints. The event was good.

Frank great work!

Those of you complaining about the walkways, you should have been around for HB 07 and HB 08. There were no walkways, you walked everywhere in SAND! You pitted at whatever table was open. Your first game was on field 1 and second game 45 minutes later on field 5.

Believe or not, the league has improved! ALOT!

I thought the event was very good. But bring back Matty Marshall as an announcer, he did an amazing job in DC last august. The guy they had sounded like a 1980's radio act.

People can ***** about reffing all day but in ANY sport, there are good calls and bad calls, its just a part of the world of sports. you take the good ones and leave the bad, get over the calls. We had one bad call on us all day on field 3 and i wasent even upset because the reffs did a stand up job 95% of the time.

Yes a chrono area also.
They had a nice one set up at PEV's last year in DC in the back. Allowed us to tune our guns in before the event. we literally had 7 minutes to adjust guns on saturday morning before our first game.

I want to thank Guerrila air for everything the helped us with at Huntington Beach NPPL We had allot of questions about travel and the different types of pressures used on guns nowadays. Dan and his staff are so helpful and full of info. Thank you again for everything you did and still do for the sport of paintball.

Not sure if anyone said this or not, but you need to have ALL the finals on centercourt. There were sooo many teams in d3 i thought we were going to go to play at centercourt for final. other than that, great event

i also think that the prize structure should be revised and have set prizes like it used to be. I understand why the prize package is what it is but when we are paying so much money we should get a prize that would as least even out entry fees. Some may ask, "what if only 5 teams sign up?" I feel that it is the leagues responsibility to promote the different divisions.

Frank - Thanks. I thought the event had some great improvements over the past. It had a bit of that heyday NPPL feel to it.
1st make sure you play all your games...let's get Lanche back on top, dude.
2nd I think the lack of APPA is delegitimizing the league. I know Raehl in not the most pleasant/agreeable guy when it comes to NPPL, but he's got a good, efficient system that's utilized by almost every other league. I'd pay a little extra to use it.
3rd Every finals game should be on center court. I don't care if the announcers pay any attention, but the winners have earned the right to be showcased.

Thanks for giving a ****. Seriously.

I think that overall the event was good, I enjoyed all of the vendors out there. Overall I think that the paint that was at the event shot really good (for us anyway!) There was more teams playing this event this year. There were a few things that could use improvement, 1. A consistent ID system from year to year would help to put more teams in D2 and D1, maybe even checking on psp classifications?) 2. I know that it is hard to ref paintball but we played on two different fields and the quality of refs from field to field seemed quite different, one field we played on it seemed like the refs were afraid to get in to make a correct call, and they were 1 for 1 happy, on that field we watched 6 back to back games, the teams that got the north end of the field got at least one 1 for 1 each game and there wasn't any 1 for 1's called on the south end teams. Our team alone played 2 games on the north end and got 4 1:1's in 2 games, we got 1 out of 5 games the day before. I think that part of the reason so many 1 for 1's were being called were due to caked on paint on the bunkers. 3. The refs were running behind on one of the fields due to only getting 5 min to run per game, we couldn't prove it but according to our timers the refs shaved time off of our game (around 30 sec), we missed a flag hang by a couple of seconds. All the other games that went the length were give or take 5 sec different from our timers. When we hear that the refs say they were running behind and only had 5 min for games it seems a little fishy! I know it's the first event of the year so overall things were good, thanks Frank for your dedication to paintball and for listening to our suggestions!

Reffing in the league is really bad.

and cleaning the bunkers more, just wiping them down here and there would be appreciated.

And please go back to using APPA.

please.

This was already discussed a few pages back. The city of Huntington beach did not allow the NPPL to use water to clean the bunkers. Im sure all of the other events will be using water.

i got coverd a few times sliding in the bunkers and just playing them. and the refs knew that and didnt check for hits casue of the paint. they just kept a good eye on me.

i forgot to add about the chrono..that **** was stupid..the team behind you would miss the hole and your covered, like a few minutes of standing here geting covered in paint having to clean your gogs when your ready t0 go..all you need is to seperate them with netting
