Do you need ab exercises?

I've read that by doing a regular workout your abs are already getting worked. I'm looking to get a chistled stomach but mostly bulk up. I've just heard that you can still have a 6 pack without the abs

To be honest, he is partially right.

Certain "regular" workouts need no extra ab exercises, enough running and core lifts cover them pretty well. But you do need to throw some in a few times a week.

sorry guys, I was in a hurry to write this. I meant to say something more like do you need to isolate abs in order to still gain stomach muscle
(I hope that doesn't sound as retarted as before, or else I just fail)

i don't do any ab specific exercises but I have a six pack. it's all about not having a lot of fat.

If you want big lifts, you're gonna need extra ab exercises to help with your core strength. Core strength plays a big part with all of the big lifts, and a weak core can really hurt your numbers

Better.

Basically, extra ab work won't hurt. There's no real reason NOT to, other than that it's not totally necessary. Just hit your main compound lifts hard, and throw in some extra ab work every other day or so. For example, I throw in weighted situps on deadlift days, and DB side bends for squat days.

Brad Pitt doesn't even have a ****ing physique. He has scrawny everything and the slightest bit of muscle on it. It's not impressive and it does not take any work.


On a serious note I do basically pure weighted ab stuff if I do it. Yes, J-dub does ab work.

I don't want abs. I don't show them off. They aren't part of my goals. I think people that work out to get abs are retarded. I just do ab work because they are a muscle and are a secondary muscle during lifts.

aight, i got it now. you big dudes are jealous that the skinny dudes with dick v's and abs are getting mad bishes while you guys are jackin' off in the corner with a hand puppet? given, it doesn't take that much effort... i mean, all you have to do is eat right, lift, and do cardio for dem derrr abs, right? or is it not about the bishes at all? you put in so much work for that hulk like appearance that you feel you deserve all the women in the world?
