Is there a reason I always seem to lose my detents? I have the hybrid adjustable ones. I lose one about every 3 weeks. I tighten them as tight as I can before I play and check them often though out the day. I know they arent the best but Ive got about 20 of them.

Not got a TechT bolt to confirm, but as it is very similar to a stock HE bolt, which does work perfectly well with the Hybrid bolt guide, I would presume that it would work fine.

Impossible to say without having the board in front of you and an electronic engineering degree behind you. On the whole though, it doesn't sound promising. Was this a normal 9 volt alkaline battery, or a 9.6v re-chargeable? If the re-chargeable, try an alkaline, and see if you have any better luck - a freshly charged re-chargeable battery can briefly be putting out considerably more than 9.6v.

If this happened with an alkaline battery, then your board may well be knackered.

Simplest way of doing this is to contact Rhino1XL to buy a spring, and contact cs900 to get your bolt modified to be used with a spring.

If it's getting replaced, it's all good, but one other thing occurs to me - check the board for any dirt/paint/moisture that could be causing the board to short out. If you have a can of compressed air keyboard cleaner, give the board a blast, as that may dislodge anythign that you can't actually see.

I probably did the dumbest thing ever, but I decided to not pay attention to how far I was screwing in the grips screws and I ****ed my upperboard. The gun won't turn on anymore and so my question is: Do I need a new noid with an upperboard or can I buy just the upperboard?

It is certainly possible to replace the upper board without having to replace the solenoid.

Very easy to do if you have the Humphrey solenoid; the upper board has a pair of prongs that plug in to a socket on the bottom of the solenoid - just unplug the upper board, and plug in a new one.

In the case of the Parker solenoid, the upper board is soldered to the solenoids contacts, and if removed incorrectly, you could damage the solenoid. You would need to desolder the upper board, remove it, then solder on a new one. As upper boards sold as spares are almost invariably for the Humphrey solenoid these days, you would also need to desolder the prongs from the upper board. It can then be used with the Parker solenoid.

NXT plays music

Ok so my son turns on his NXT we just got off eBay and it start playing the Lone ranger theme or something. Stops when you hit the power button once. Its really cool, and weird at the same time. I personally have 3 other shockers and none of them have every done that. Anyone know what this thing is and or is doing??? Thanks.

Your son has the Russian Legion virtue board in his shocker. It has several different ringtones that it can play when you turn the gun on.
Here is the manual for the Russian Legion board

If one of his IC's (the little black things are called Integrated Circuits) is glowing red, even if he does remove the dirt at this point he's probably still "knackered"

I was kinda hoping that red hot was an exaggeration, but if it's hot enough to burn someone, then maybe not.

Bolt stick

Hey guys,
this is a really newb question but I'm a noob to shockers. What would cause the bolt to stick forward? Looking down the feedneck I see the bolt is pushed forward all the way? It happened when I ran out of air? Im going to go fill my tank today but just want to know what to look for. btw its a 05 dynasty sft shocker

Thanks

Yep, if you were totally out of air, then there is nothing to push the bolt back. That's the most likely cause.

If that doesn't resolve the issue, then I would check the breech o-ring (after you have free'd the bolt of course), make sure that the detents aren't screwed in too far, and clean and grease the bolt sail o-ring - replace if worn.
