Liquid leaking out of LCD tv...

Wondering if anyone else has had this happen before. Today my tv was working fine when I turned it on for about 15 minutes, and then the majority of the screen went black with some bands of colors at the bottom, but I could still hear the sound. After exhausting everything trying to figure out what's wrong, my roommate and I picked it up to move it and a clear liquid that looks like water leaked out. It had to have been at least 1/2 cup, plus more that it left on the tv stand where the base of the tv was.

So my question is, what the **** is it? There have been no liquids spilled on the tv whatsoever, and it's only about 6 months old too.

Well it's my roommate's tv, so I'm not sure about the warranty. We've narrowed it down to maybe two possible causes. After doing some research we found that the 'liquid' in liquid crystal display isn't actually a liquid. It's just describing how ductile the crystals are.

Anyway, the two possible causes we've read about so far:
1.) There is some liquid in between two panes of glass inside the tv. Those could have broken and caused this, or
2.) We've read about a few cases in older buildings (like our apartment building) of rainwater seeping in from the roof and actually traveling through the coaxial cable and into the tv. That's our best bet right now, since the liquid that leaked seemed to be water. It was clear and has no scent. I still took a sample of it for whenever my roommate brings his tv to a repair shop to see wtf happened.

And here's a pic of where the tv was, and you can clearly see the liquid that pooled around part of the base of the tv:

So is that what leaked out of our tv? And if so, I'm guessing the tv is completely broked?

So let me get this straight, since you obviously know much more about this than I do.
1. The liquid that leaked out is mineral oil
2. Is that what was between the two panes of glass I read about when researching the problem?

that is correct you cant use water with power..it will cause a short.
it the same stuff in a cheap calculator you buy at walmart. most time when a lcd or laptop leaks from our repair point of view is a hit or someone leaves there laptop out in the winter in a car then turns the unit on before the screen can warm up.
