well, considering it's freezing cold in December in the area, I doubt the shepherds were in the field then. Not to mention the 70 miles trip for Mary to Bethlehem while 9 months preggo. So it's pretty unlikely that he was born anywhere near the depths of winter. But as far as proof of an exact date, well that's a lot harder since there really isn't any. Sometime between spring and fall makes the most sense, but that leaves a lot of variation.

yes. The vast majority of christian "holy days" were based off of other religions and convenience. Most modern day christians accept this and celebrate the "commemoration" of events without the expectation that they actually happened that day.

More like move a holiday to overlap with an existing pagan holiday (winter solstice in this case) to make it easier to convert people.

EDIT: oops, I'm too slow

I don't understand the humor. There;s a big difference between watching porn/jerking off, and being addicted to porn and masturbation.

Would you laugh at an alcoholic if he used AA to recover?

For me it all goes back to the idea of humans thinking a God would take them seriously. I mean, the idea that an all-powerful, all-knowing God cares whether or not this kid slaps his meat around a few times a week.

Sure.

Pray that God opens your mind, read (or re-read) and understand Romans 6,7& 8.

And we'll continue..
