MiniMag + CO2 = ???

Hey guys, I just picked up my first mag (Minimag) and I'm in love with it .
I currently have it running with a bottom-line asa with HPA. It's alright, but I'm a fan of the smallest/most compact and lightest set up possible since I like to crawl around and stuff. I dont plan on shooting a whole lot with it (maybe like 5 shot "bursts" max).

I'd really like to take the vert grip and bottom-line asa off, and run my 3.5oz CO2 tank straight in the Vert ASA. I've read up on automags with CO2 and everyone is talking about using expansion chambers, remote lines, and anti-siphon tanks, but I figured I wouldnt need to do all that since the CO2 would be running straight up and it'd be hard for liquid to get in the gun. But, I figured I'd "ask the experts" on this one .

So is it completely safe to run my 3.5oz tank directly into the Vert. ASA without damaging the mag? I'd really like to hear from players who have done this too and tell me if they ran into any issues.

Thanks!

PS - It has a MiniMag A.I.R. 4 Star valve with lvl 10 bolt.

Safe? Yes.
The only issue might be liquid CO2 entering the valve and causing the o-rings to leak.
There is a reason everyone says to use an expansion chamber.

That's what the Mini was designed for; vert bottle for a compact....."Mini".....'Mag.

A 7oz filled to 5oz works better for how you intend to play. The extra room in the bottle will act like an expando.

thanks secretweaponevan and Army. just did the air line conversion.

also, forgot to ask...

before i converted it so an air line was going to the VA to the valve, i aired it up with my HPA tank just to mess around with it. But, it was leaking down the barrel.. it still does it now after i did the conversion.

it is a slow/small leak.. when i apply some pressure to the trigger it stops.. but when i take my finger off, it does it again.. my tank only has like 300-500psi left so is it leaking because it's not getting enough pressure? or.... ????

any advice would be appreciated. thanks!

If you find you're having liquid in the valve issues. This would solve those problems.

Your golden as long as you don’t tilt your gun over. That’s how my brother ran his mag back in the day.
