Name of this pro player?

So I've been out of the sport for a few years now so I haven't really been paying attention to it. I was talking with a friend the other day about a kid who had gone pro at the age of 14, but I couldn't remember his name. For some reason the name "Tyler" comes to mind but I'm not sure. I think he played with a Bob Long team.

I want to say its Tyler Humphrey (aka THump), just due to first name. I beleive he played on a BL team for a while also.

EDIT: I'm wrong, it is Tyler Harmon.

If we're talking Bob Long teams, it's Tyler Harmon. Humphrey never played on any of Bob's teams.

EDIT: I somehow glossed over the part where you said he went pro at 14. You're definitely thinking of Tyler Harmon.

I never fully understood why they were called "pros."

Is anybody actually making a living strictly playing paintball?

Playing, doubtful. Playing while also working full-time for a sponsor, more likely.

Exactly.

If I was to work as a stockboy at Walmart, and then play on the store's rec-league basketball team, would that make me a "professional basketball player?"

OMG YES!

They're just the "best of the best" (Notice the quotes), and it's really just a title.

I know that Matty Marshall, played on XSV, lived just off of paintball for a little bit. I'm pretty sure that Ollie Lang lives straight off of paintball. But most likely the pros have other jobs as well.

Last I checked, Ollie actually works for DYE, so that's how he's making his money

Yeah, he's correct here. Sure, all that news was up a couple years ago of how much Dye was giving him to switch to the Ironmen, but be sure that he works for Dye. He doesn't just wear what they give him and shoot what they give him, he does what they say.
