HK got their GEOs! Quick Question

Hello Everyone,

HK received their GEOs today and we are very happy on how they shoot!

Quick question,

In our case for the geo it came with this extra part that I cant figure out what it is for. Its black and almost looks like a "can" but its not. I believe its plastic or a very strong material other than metal and it has two o-rings on the end of the piece. It can be put in half but the o-rings keep it from doing so. Any idea what this is?

Thanks for your help!

We love our GEOs, Planet Eclipse out did themselves again!

I forget what they're called, they might be called bumpers. All they are for is for bumping down you velocity by like 30fps. They are not needed for the gun to work, it's just in case you want to shoot reballs or something and dont want to mess with the settings.

They are for reducing Velocity in case of shooting reballs. Do not use them as a supposed "Top Hat" mod.

Those are spacers used for lowering you velocity, generally for the use of reballs or 265 fps or below. The were introduced as a component of the GST Bolt Kit for the Geo. I would definitely not recommend using them for a normal day of play.

If you did want to use them, remove the o-rings and place the spacers around the bolt guide and screw the bolt assembly back into the gun. Do not put the o-rings back onto the spacers, they are merely just there to hold the two pieces together when not being used.

If you are using both parts of the volume restrictor, you can actually use the o-rings to hold them together - there is no detrimental effect in doing so.

If you have the volume restrictors for your Geos, presumably you have the ST kit installed - these have a ported face rather than an open face.

The ST kit was designed primarily to solve an issue that the Geo had when shooting Reballs with the stock bolt kit. Reballs were getting sucked in to the open face of the stock bolt, which created a vacuum that tried to stop the bolt from moving forwards. That, combined with lower HPR pressure and/or dwell (to lower the velocity for use with Reballs) lead to cycling issues.

The ST kit bolt was designed to prevent the face of the bolt getting plugged by the Reballs, and the kit included firing chamber volume restrictors to allow for velocity to be reduced without making major changes to the operating pressure or dwell.

As a further addition to the ST kit, Planet also developed a new can which reduced the rate at which air in front of the bolt was vented by the solenoid. This made for a less rapid acceleration of the bolt, and hence slower bolt speeds, making the ST kit softer on paint and reducing kick.

And that in a nutshell is what the ST kit does, and why you have the volume restrictors - to allow for Reball use, allow for low velocity without cycling issues, to be softer on paint and to reduce kick.

The ones we got yesterday were just a quick run to get us guns for HB. They have the HK Skull and Crossboys lasered in on one side under where the barrell sits. I am pretty sure we are going to get some HK custom annoed Geos.

MacDev wanted to keep their efforts toward Russin Legion. MacDev treated HK very well and we were pleased with their guns and their service with our team. Unfortunately since they wanted to keep all their efforts with Russian Legion we decided to part ways.

Planey Eclipse picked us up and we are very happy to be with them. Their service is awesome and their guns shoot great! We are very happy to be sponsored by a great company such as Planet Eclipse.

Thanks,

Rory N
