Paintballs breaking in SA-8

Before I get flooded with responses of the SA-8 is intended for paintball. I fully understand the safety concerns and liability associated with using the SA-8 for recreational use.

Anyway I received my SA-8 and turned back the velocity some on the regulator but paint is still breaking in the barrel. I'm thinking the barrel is too small and or the detents are too strong. Any suggestions?

from what i've read so far the detents are differnt then the tac8 and seeing how it was meant to shoot a ball at somewhere around 350 fps the detents are a little more aggressive.but i now some people would like to use the sa8 barrell on there tac8 but sopposedly it doesn't fit.it's a length thing.

check this post in another forum. it's long but has alot of info.---www.mcarterbrown.com/forums/dead-zone/104838-tiberus-pistol-99-a.html

Tib markers are picky on the paint. cheap paint WILL break. Make sure you do a THOROUGH cleaning if you have a break in the breech area. Also make sure your velocity is turned down, most paintballs can't survive a burst of gas at 450fps.

I usually run RPS paints, and if possible winter grade paint (thicker shelled). Most decent paint lists a 'brittleness index', you want LOW

only use rps premium paint, it works great and no breaks also chron the thing down to 280. I had a sa8 and now have a t8.1 which I might sell but anyways use better paint. no wally mart paint
